Going off how the NHL operates in North America, which is franchises that can move or new clubs be created, they talk about an initial 25 years to get established then another 25 years to embed in the community. And they talk about the need for continued success over that entire 50 years. If they do stay for 10+ years (let alone 250) they will have become an established part of the city sporting life
That's what I mean, there are the odd ones but hardly on the rise. No more than the first year knocking around. To be fair to magwitch, took my two (in sky blue of course) for a kick around at the memorial Park ... Obviously joined in with a game with other kids, two wearing wasps. So, either these two kids are showing up around the city or maybe more than two!
If they do stay for 10+ years (let alone 250) they will have become an established part of the city sporting life - whether sky blues (and Coventry rugby) fans like it or not.
Sadly, some sort of joint partnership regarding ownership of the ground (to access revenue / increase opportunities) might be best for us at present - not that wasps would be keen (nor have we the money / owners to set it up).
I'm not saying I'm happy with this btw, I wish we had bought the stadium when we had the chance.
Not sure how any of them are promoting a boycott. I wasn’t planning on going to the game today until I saw the news last night and thought I’d better get by ass over to show some solidarity with fellow fans going out their way, give a donation to a good cause and watch the game at the same time. My daughter has just piped up that she wants to go as well out of the blue. So if they’re supposed to be promoting a boycott (which of course they’re not so I’m not sure why some fans feel motivated to promote that they are) there’s going to be at least two more at the game who wouldn’t have been otherwise so they’re clearly not meeting those objectives. Not that they were trying to anyway.
My guess would be the only way to prevent a scenario where they overtake us (maybe they already have) would be if we got back to the prem. would that also make some sort of merger more realistic? To be fair to magwitch, took my two (in sky blue of course) for a kick around at the memorial Park ... I assume they are all going in? Have been through this multiple times, do I need to link to the tweets again?
You are going to watch your team play just because people slept outside?
How many are put off with the stuff that's churned out?
Edit: hope your daughter enjoys it!
Bribe with a Gregg's and hot chocolateOn this one occasion I guess I am.
She’s changed her mind already.
Thought the quote from JHW made that pretty clear, how else do you interpret 'This litigation in the name of Otium Entertainment Limited, which trades as Coventry City FC, and other parties is a direct threat to Wasps very existence and it should not be surprising to anyone that this stance has been taken by the landlords' other than a defence of Wasps position? Personally I'm more concerned about the continued existence of my football club than Wasps. `Defend Wasps what are you on about?
Unless it's meant as a distraction?Thought the quote from JHW made that pretty clear, how else do you interpret 'This litigation in the name of Otium Entertainment Limited, which trades as Coventry City FC, and other parties is a direct threat to Wasps very existence and it should not be surprising to anyone that this stance has been taken by the landlords' other than a defence of Wasps position? Not too sure how a case that most, if not all, believe SISU will lose presents a direct threat to Wasps existence, that would imply their financial position is far worse than anyone believes.
Said it many times before but there's 2 ways this gets resolved. Either SISU drop the legals or Wasps back down.
IMO there's zero chance of SISU dropping the legals and there's nothing we as fans can do to force it. Everything that's been tried has had zero impact on them.
On the other hand you've got Wasps who have shown themselves to be very sensitive to even the slightest criticism. To me it's a no brainer if the primary aim is having somewhere to play next season. Put pressure on them. At the moment they think they can just sit back and see the club cease to exist with no comeback on them. Statements like the one quoted above from JHW aren't doing anything to challenge that point of view.
Even the chap from Supporters Direct said at the Trust meeting that fans groups have to maintain professionalism to be taken seriously. Tweets saying things like SISU scum out don't strike me as meeting that standard. Of course nobody supports SISU or what they have done and everyone wants them going but its just distracting from the main issue at present and that only benefits Wasps.
Interesting about that troll account on twitter that everybody knew nothing aboutthe one who says season ticket holders are "nobs".
I wouldn't have made a point about it if I wasn't sure I was right.
You know exactly who it is.
If you’re that sure it’s who you think it is come and see him and confront him about it. You know where he is.
Shouting at angry old men at football? I'd rather go and enjoy the game with my daughter today. I will leave the anger for those staying outside.
You have been thrown under the bus again, you were adamant as well. Like I said, it will just end up getting worse and more obvious. You won't have it though or listen.
Ha ok then. So he's said he isn't using that twitter account but posts pictures from it?No I haven’t. I’ve still seen nothing to prove that he or anyone else is lying to me.
Uh what? Vegas had the whole city behind them last season, their first season in existence.Going off how the NHL operates in North America, which is franchises that can move or new clubs be created, they talk about an initial 25 years to get established then another 25 years to embed in the community. And they talk about the need for continued success over that entire 50 years.
And? The point is that support will just as quickly walk away if success isn't sustained. They haven't all become die hard Golden Knights fans overnight and in the near future they will have the Las Vegas Raiders in the NHL and seems quite likely there will be an NBA and / or MLB team as well.Uh what? Have you actually looked at the twitter accounts Nick flagged up? Can't see how you can see what is being posted and still deny it.No I haven’t. I’ve still seen nothing to prove that he or anyone else is lying to me.

Jesus Christ. Are you just naive? I'm hoping so as you really are looking that way.
At what point are you just bullshitting people trying to stick up for others because they shout about sisu?
They are having your pants down.
So if I have been lied to what do I do about it?
Have you actually looked at the twitter accounts Nick flagged up? Can't see how you can see what is being posted and still deny it.
Again I can see why you think what you’re thinking. I will bring it up again.
Fair play. Something positiveA brilliant £1350 raised so far. Great effort. Still time to donate to a very worthy cause.

Yes they had a national sleep out last night hoping to raise £20,000 should have call for the SBA.A brilliant £1350 raised so far. Great effort. Still time to donate to a very worthy cause.
I live near Salisbury, and the annual sleep out for the homeless got cancelled due to the poor weather.
Slightly ironic haha.

Indeed. Tbf one of the local councillors has said she'll do it on her own. That’s probably the best time to do it if you want to raise money isn’t it?
But some choose not to have.Too right. With the amount of empty properties in our area and beyond there’s no excuse for anyone not to have the chance of having a roof over their head.
But some choose not to have.
Yep-smokers, drinking, drugs, there is the help there-some “choose” not to accept it though. That’s why I said it how I did. Some also get given the chance and don’t respect the rules they have to follow.
I think ‘choice’ about such actions/behaviours is something that could be debated eternally.Yep-smokers, drinking, drugs, there is the help there-some “choose” not to accept it though.
