Really think he will be effective for us, yes only been 2 games but it is looking like a good bit of business.

Tonight a lot of the play went through him, he was winning headers and getting the ball to feet and turning. Seemed very direct compared to what we have been used to where it will be hold it up and lay it off to the full back.

If he laid it off, he was making the run and shouting to have it played through to him.

For the first time this season we've a focal point up top and is refreshing to see him grafting too.

Provides a big outlet, backing into defenders, rolling and putting his body in front. Clever player.

His performance against Bolton was excellent and he showed us what we have been missing, it was energy, strength, determination and a willingness to chase every ball that stood out for me. I hope he can keep up his positive contribution so far.

Just looked at the Burton Web site, confusing place that is, Sordell was on the bench for the PNE game and didnt make the squad for the Watford game...guys done well

are you now having a dig at a player who did well for us and never pushed for a move but accepted it and then wished the club well?

really?

edit-just seen your last post, never mind

Considering the first half of this season, being average at best would make someone a shoe-in for player of the year.

7 goals wasnt it? from wing? in a team bottom 4

id say above average myself

He didn't score 7 from the wing, he was up front for at least 3 of those. He got 4 league goals and hasnt scored since mid October. His overall contribution in terms of work rate and holding the ball up was terrible. Not even close to a championship player. Isn't it 9 clubs for him now at the age of 25? Says it all really

My views on him when I 1st seen him play at Nuneaton Boro' was that although he had quite fast feet his shooting was more rushed and panicked not composed, nearly every time he pulled the 'trigger' it was bad technique and invariably ended up in row z

Beavon appears to be the 'big man' in a strike partnership in a little mans body will graft and bring the 'little, pacey striker' into it.

He maybe perfect fodder for G Thomas

Not sure on why the dislike for Sordell, came here as a failure who could maybe spark his career back on track.... did anyone expect him to of got 12 goals by this point of the season. He was not the type to create his own goals he needed a target man to play off in my opinion.

Beavon is a totally different type of player, as someone said a target man type in a 5'7" body. Excellent work rate and ability to link up the play while not being isolated too deep like Tudgay. Beavon statistically is not gonna give us a great goal return himself but his partner should benefit of his work.

I've a feeling when/if we get a natural right winger who will regularly perform George Thomas will end up potentially as Beavons strike partner if he can just find a scoring rhythm.

I feel JJ is miles away from being a regular league starter, impact player at best for his pace. He's ability but so much to develop and polish in his game play and team work

Just a bit un nervered at the idea of getting players back from Brentford.
After the Wilson Bournemouth debacle on that front

Rumours I think... id image Slade would have some input on players coming as part of any deal taking Stevenson away.

Still having nightmares about Allsop, Mcqoid and coulibaly

All 3 were garbage, but most of Pressley's signings were

I really hope so
Allsop was no better than our own and just set the development of our own back a year.

Mcqoud was distinctively average and took up a place in the squad

As for coulibaly !!!

It all felt like it was a case of 3.5 million and we get three players !!!
Great

Hang on a minute are the three better than what we already have?, no
Right 3.75 please and no players thanks
