Former Coventry City forward Craig Bellamy has been arrested and released on bail by South Wales Police.

Bellamy was involved in an incident which The Sun claimed yesterday saw him allegedly trading punches with a gang of attackers outside the Eden Night Club in the Welsh capital and two men with facial injuries.

Bellamy was arrested this morning and released after questioning with a South Wales Poilice spokesman being quoted as saying: "A 31-year-old man has today been arrested on suspicion of assault and has been bailed pending further inquiries."

Couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke. i remember hearing a story from my uncle who took my 8 year old cousin (both Newcastle fans) to St James park and managed to get in the back to meet a few players. A woman working there tried to introduce them to Bellamy saying 'This lads come all the way from Coventry to meet you today' his reply was 'People come from all over the world to see me.' What a knobhead.
