Every single one of them today was exceptional. Not one bad performance, we absolutely bullied them and outclassed them from minute 1

Allen Grimes and Torp turned into primes Xavi Iniesta and Busquets

Defence untroubled and solid as a rock

Haji well what can I say. The man can play in the premier league easily on his day. EMC and Tats also quality

Overwhelming feeling of pride. Bounced back from a garbage performance with the best of the season

EMC is carrying an injury. If he had been 100%, think we would have been even better.

Totally agree. I saw the absolute worst at PP on Tuesday and the absolute best today.

Allen, Torp and Grimes were sensational today.

Best performance we’ve put in for a good 2-3 seasons in my view.

Too many people panicked after Derby away. All we needed was a bit more legs in midfield and Allen provided that. Allen, Torp and Sakamoto won every 50/50 in the midfield. Haji Wright is the obvious MOTM because his hattrick was perfect, I swear he finishes better with his left foot!

Over 90 minutes. There are memorable games such as Luton this year and of course the Man U semi-final.

Jamie Allen won 99% of his battles today! I’d prob go as far as saying that we his best game in a city shirt! Keep it up Allen!! 💪

Beginning to end, top to bottom, to a person we were fucking brilliant today. Wright back to the one-man wrecking machine we saw against Oxford, the defenders were bouncing off him. Jamie Allen's improvement has been ridiculous. JDS, probably my least favourite player in this squad, had a blinder. Our front three was fucking frightening. Thomas and Kitching barely broke a sweat. What a fucking afternoon 🩵

Allen was incredible. The last of the old school continuing the drive up the leagues. He's outlasted the rest of them.

Other than fitting Rudi back in somehow, I think we have found our best line up. What a rounded performance. I fancy us against anyone now. Damn the international break

Yep, fell into this myself. The de-brief with my dad post Derby, he knows his stuff and called the team with Haji starting up front, Jay in, I said come on dad Haji clearly not fit enough yet (mind you most of them looked like they'd just got out of bed on Tues) and yes Bidwell was well off it but surely the better of two evils. In the pub hes got the team right, everyone taking the piss, but they were all tremendous to a man. Can't figure out the difference in just a few days, was it a kick up the complacency, was Frank spitting a few truths? Whatever, hoping it sticks and thought the crowd were the 12, 13 and 14th man there today.

Allen may not be a top 6 player, but he is a player that can get you into the top 6.
How we needed him against Derby.
Today we maintained the tempo. Maybe we could afford to knowing there is a break to come. Ideally we need to play at this tempo for the remaining games.

In my view, it wasn’t down to complacency. At Derby, it was conceding the first goal that made the game unnecessarily difficult. As good as we were today, we looked slick at Derby away until we conceded the goal.

The way we leave the lines so open, it was my view that Allen would complement this well because how much distance he covered. It’s why the 5-3-2 worked as well as it did because Torp and Rudoni could push up really high. It was similar today and moving forward, the question is whether or not Rudoni can cover that role or not and if he can’t, Allen needs to remain a starter imo.

You definitely need cracking role players and imo, Allen really encapsulates this. He played so well in the 5-3-2 games and was replaced for Grimes and whenever you write him off, he just finds ways to add value that make you change your opinion.

The Derby game was crying out for Allen offer his style in midfield, don’t think it was wrong for people to question it but today was just another level with the midfield battling and movement.

Exactly this. Allen isn’t a spectacular defender but his energy in midfield means he often doesn’t need to be because he’s just always on hand to pick up a loose ball or pressure an opposition player into making a defender. Today, however, he won many balls and was fantastic.
