Best performing cities (1 Viewer)

Just because I had 30 mins I looked up the population of the 20 biggest cities on Wikipedia. I determined how many top flight clubs are in each city and then divided the current position in the league of the worst team in that area by the population per team - as some kind of calculation on which are the best and worst performing cities.

Hull came top, followed by Brighton and then Newcastle. We came 16th, so we are only slightly punching below our weight as we are the 13th most populated. The Wirral came last as I don't think they have any teams and their population is 331k (Liverpool is quoted separately). London came second last due to Charlton's position and the huge population in London shared 8 ways.

I cannot load a picture unless it's on the interweb so I've pasted what I can below - pretty indecipherable probably.

"Pop

Go to imgur.com and upload there, then right click "Copy Image address" and post here.

Though to be honest I have no idea what your numbers mean even though I can work out which is which. Is higher better or worse? And isn't Wirral just Liverpool?

Surely you should take the average between the number of teams when looking at teams below them, why take the worst?

Why are Walsall counted as Birmingham?

More questions than answers here.

Some of you're populations are for the actual cities and some are for urban areas,
E.g. Population of Liverpool is around 500.000 the same for Manchester.
Urban area of Nottingham is over 600.000 yet you have put the city population
Proper, Teeside isn't a city it's a county.
Why would you split London 8 ways when it has 11 clubs, some would say more.
Where do Tranmere play ?
Since when does Birmingham have 4 clubs.

Your population stat for Coventry is way off. ONS recorded Coventry's population as 342525 in 2015. Also, Coventry maybe 13th largest in the U.K (not England)., but that includes Belfast, Cardiff, Glasgow and Edinburgh, 3 of which don't play in the EFL. Cov is currently vying with Leicester for 8th largest city, although Leicester has a larger urban area and that includes Oadby and Wigston which aren't technically part of the city. It's a good try but any attempt to define city size based on your data is difficult. I think you have used some of the city metric data and it's wildly inaccurate.
