CWR saying robins has alluded to him getting a new contract

Can’t be true tho as Grendel thinks he’s shit so he will be out the door with Matty James

Tells me the budget will possibly be the same as this season if we stay up...people think we are too good to go down not having a striker for me is the issue

I think there has always been questions ability wise, but never on effort.

He wouldn't be in my starting team, but as a squad player I would definitely have him. I get frustrated sometimes, but really appreciate what he does bring and the effort he goes to try and prove himself. It's hard not to admire that.

Either way, I hope we don't.

We probably will

The only person I've seen say we're too good to go down is you.

He is an option off the bench for me right now. Being played out of necessity. Not sure he warrants a new contract though.

I don't mind him getting a new contract as long as we improve the options and bring someone else in. We need to constantly evolve.

Complete waste of money if we do, between Jones, Baka & Biamou we must be spending 10k a week in wages on 3 players who offer very little, Personally would get rid of those 3 and replace with a half decent target man for this level.

I’ve said since pre season I worry unless we have players experienced at the level Matty James has helped that I also said keeping Godden fit would be key,I do think walker will score goals once he’s back

Is he cheap? Yes.
Is he our best target man? Yes.
Will he moan about being on the bench most weeks? No.

If Max being our 4th choice striker frees up money to sign another player in the summer then I'm for it.

Biamou is in the team as he’s the only striker we’ve got now, simple. We all know he’s doesn’t get in this team with everyone fully fit. Whilst he’s done a job the only reason he’ll get a contract is because it’s cheap & gives us options, whatever league we’re in.
If we don’t renew I doubt any other striker that’s available for as much as we pay Biamou would be as good either.

No way those 3 are on 10k combined. Maybe 3k combined.

Great respect for him for his hard work and endeavour but not sure he's necessarily worth one. Then again you don't get many players willing to play for less than £100k p/a

The fact we are even discussing this as a serious option shows how small a club we have become compared to Brentford

Wouldn't be surprised to hear that Baka is on more then that alone. We paid 200K for him, so he'd probably have been on roughly 2.5k when he first signed, would have had a pay rise for going into his second year then hes part of a promotion squad and we trigger the extension clause in his contract as a championship club (another pay rise) he must be on close to 4k a week now.

No chance. Granted, he's probably over the 1k I suggest but unlikely by much. If he's on 4k a week he's likely one of our top earners.

Really? Our wage bill was £5.3m before the promotion season

Might improve if the fans come to the Ricoh in their droves next season. Assuming we are back in coventry of course

Assume that's including staff, so let's take off £1m for coaching team, support staff and development team leaves you with an average of just of £2k per week.

Well, yeah. Fans at the Ricoh Vs BCD at St. Andrews would clearly make a difference. Lot of outside circumstances can still impact that at the moment though.

I very much doubt Biamou is on anything like 4k. It's not really a particularly hot take.

How much do you think robins will be on? Presumably that'll be in line with some of our better paid players now.

Well, obviously relegation will impact budget. Don't think we'll go down personally but obviously still very much a possibility.

I reckon we've probably got 3 players in our squad that we're currently paying £5k or over (excluding loans). O'Hare, Hamer, Walker. Likes of Godden, DaCosta, Dabo probably slightly under.

Yeah, probably. Bakayoko probably similar (maybe 2.5k). Jones probably not earning much this year, maybe 2k maximum.
