Just looking back over some of he bickering about Biamou.

Let’s put all that aside , I think it’s fair to say this...

A - most of agreed he took a while to get used to the step up

B - once he did , he was an asset to the team

C - he was a cheap gamble , so we lost nothing

D - yeah he didnt score loads like
McNulty ( but how often do we get a striker that does anyway!! )

E - fooook me, when he did score he scored some screamers !!

F - for finally and most importantly , the goals he did score were important ones, he stepped up at the right time & that’s why we love him

End of... if he goes next season because league 1 is a step too far then both him and us enjoyed his time at Cov I’m sure

G - When he found his feet at this level he was the most effective foil for McNulty we had at our disposal.

I thought he showed some excellent understanding and touches, especially 2nd leg vs Notts County.

A great non-league find. I hope yer new guy (Cobi Shaw) can be inspired to make the leap

Didnt everyone time to realise he was an effective player ;-) even the goal he set up for Jodi Jones on the opening day of the season should’ve been enough for people to see he was a great team player

Think this is a very valid point. He wasn't involved in all the goals McNulty scored but he's surrisingly good in the air
JCH made a decent enough back up 2nd half of the season. Are they both league 1 standard? Honestly I don't know. That's a risk we need to figure out.

This place makes me laugh sometimes.

McNulty came to us as an experienced player. It took him time to get going. But when he did he scored goals.

Biamou came to us as an inexperienced player. He had lots to learn. But the more he played the better he got and then started scoring goals.

McNulty has the experience so not worried about him making the step up. Biamou has shown that he can learn and improve. And that he can score good goals. Not worried about him either. But what I would like to see is another experienced striker who scores goals come in and use Biamou as an impact sub. Then he would get more experience and then get his chance at some time.

Really can’t see the point in this again

The only thing I’ll say is never has so much praise been placed on someone with so little ability. I can’t think of one other forward who’d be tolerated for no goals in 30 games

George Thomas was written off after his first 5 games last season.

The only one I can think of think of is Robert Rosario. Rosario went to Nottingham Forest and regularly appears in their all time worst 11 team when they do them. I think forest fans know their football.

're Forrest fans, surely they judged him based on his time at Forest? Hermann Hreidarsson was bloody poor for us, didn't make him a poor footballer though.

Every team will always look to bolster their goal scoring options. We need less dependence on McNulty

Biamou showed enough development and commitment
to merit the opportunity from within the squad for another year.

The step up to league one from league two isn’t as big as the step up from non league to league two so I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he steps up a lot easier and competes a lot sooner. Got a feeling he’ll prove to be an asset next season, even more than last.

Hmmm.... David McGoldrick, anyone?

Entirely right. You can sometimes only judge a footballer on his record for your team. McGoldrick was poor elsewhere, excellent for us.

Been plenty of players here who were poor for us, but did very well elsewhere.

Speaking of which, he’s just been released from Ipswich. Had a shitty few years injury-wise so doubt he’ll stay in the championship. Worth a risk?

I’d expect him to score plenty for someone else next year.

I’d take David McGoldrick back in a heartbeat. Our other strikers could learn so much from him.

Why reply when you can't see the point. Not many people agree with your opinion as far as Biamou is concerned, yet you constantly let us know he is the worst striker you've ever seen, but won't compare him to other strikers we've had because they didn't play for us in Division 4/League 2.
When you see the thread title "Biamou" just ignore it!

It’s not really though. If you go by the same basis as scoring a goal = has potential to play in that league then Willis, Grimmer and Clarke Harris have the potential to play in the Premier League

I don’t mind Biamou, he’s scored some important goals and improved as the season has gone but do feel as if some are reaching for him

As part of his overall improvement in the goal scoring department, I think it does show he has the potential. A player who can strike a ball as he did against Swindon, Yeovil and the disallowed one at Stevenage, plus the two over had kicks, has the potential to score at a higher level.

Fair point !! When you are scoring 30 yard top bins volleys, the quality of the half a dozen players it flys past on the way through doesn’t really matter LOL

How many games had Biamou played before you wrote Biamou off?

He has a better goals to game ratio from open play than JCH who you tolerate because he “backs into defenders well” hahaha
