End of the day McNulty will be off. Championship club will be able to offer 3 or 4 times the wage he is getting here so even an improved contract at CCFC won't be anywhere near that. Sorry to say don't blame him you have to look after number 1 and his family...
Can championship clubs offer salaries 3/4 times what we pay ? Some like those who have just come down from prem maybe but there’s a lot of big debt in the championship and there are these scmp rules. Look at Villa big support certainly a lot bigger than Reading but have serious money issues
So... Robins either has faith he can change that, or sells him while his stock's high.In case you haven’t heard, he’s got 2 years left on his current deal. We’re not in a position where we have to sell. Are Reading prepared to pay around £1m for him? Probably not because his record outside of L2 isn’t great.
I read that as socks not stock's but it's still pretty sound advice.So... Robins either has faith he can change that, or sells him while his stock's high.
I think it's more like £400k nowAverage championship wages are over £200,000 a year
Think you will find you have to nearly double that. Average in 2006 was around that. Latest deloitte figures I saw had the average around 325k (exc. bonuses) and league 1 70k.Average championship wages are over £200,000 a year
Lots of ex Premiership players on 70k a week, dragging up that average. McNulty would be lucky to get 5.I think it's more like £400k now
nearly all speculative investment. many clubs running at over 100% of turnover paid out in wages. Large debt to owners - Football finance: Championship club-by-club.What’s the turnover difference? Is there that much more TV money in the Champ or is it all speculation in the Prem?
I think they’ll sell up if we get promoted. Maybe wait until the ground situation is sorted (so about three weeks).nearly all speculative investment. many clubs running at over 100% of turnover paid out in wages. Large debt to owners - Football finance: Championship club-by-club.
scary stuff no wonder Fisher reckoned we couldn't afford to be in Championship
it's a catch 22.I think they’ll sell up if we get promoted. Maybe wait until the ground situation is sorted (so about three weeks).
it's a catch 22.
Legal issues aside SISU need promotion to improve chances/price of selling club but Can't really afford to compete in Championship if they can't find buyers.
Looking at Championship debt can't be too many idiots left with big pockets
Whilst there are still some people still wanting to buy football clubs, but we are long past the peak of external investment.Never underestimate how many rich idiots there are out there.
I think Sisus original plan was to get us to the Prem but they had a reality check and now would be happy for some other idiots to try that plan while they get out with as much as possible
Let’s face it, secure a home and get back to back promotions and we look pretty appealing to said idiots.
Bit naughty if trueReading journo on Twitter seems to think McNulty has been shown round their training ground and Reading were expecting to have a deal done by the end of last week.

do you mean he is turning up on his own or training on his own
Remember when we paid 1.5m for freddy eastwood, McN is twice the player
Is tapping up not a thing any more?
Sisu should use some of that legal power for good.
It's very difficult to prove whether a player has been tapped up. It would be a bigger waste of time than SISU's constant JR appeals.
I've been shown round Readings training ground too a few years ago..................my contract must have got lost in the post? That or they realised I was too old and crap!Reading journo on Twitter seems to think McNulty has been shown round their training ground and Reading were expecting to have a deal done by the end of last week.
