That really isn’t the question. The question is what he is worth to us as opposed to what he’s actually worth. If the likes of Barnet - midtable in L2 at the time, now relegated - were asking £1.5m for Akinde, we’re well within our rights to ask for about £2m because frankly, we have no reason to sell. There’s not even the risk of losing him on a free as we thought.
It could well be he didn't get many chances or didn't settle in those 16. He didn't score many in his first 16 for us either. He could have also been playing with players who would rather shoot from 45 yards or take everybody on than pass to him
But that's the market today isn't it? A players actual worth in comparison to a players factual worth is completely distorted. By putting figures of £1.5 million (Akinde) and £2 million (McNulty) on a players head you're effectively saying that said player is not for sale. So yes we're definitely in our rights to ask for £2 million. He's our player we could ask for £20 million for him if it suited MR. No there isn't a pressure, not now it's been revealed he has an extra year in our favour.
Utterly baffled.I was shown around ripleys believe it not in niagra
doesn't mean I am gonna try and put 65 maltesers in my mouth to beat the record*
* I did try
McNulty set to move to Reading according to HITC. Normally they are pretty accurate...
Reading set to land Coventry ace McNulty
Suppose this is what you get when you revive someone’s faltering career these days. Zero loyalty in football.
How’s this mcnultys fault?
The club can turn the bid down.
I’d have hoped for £2 million up front at the very least!
I think it's inevitable. You can't really blame McNulty. He's 25 and has earned the opportunity to play in the Championship and probably double his salary.
I'm gutted that he's going but wish him the best of luck.
Let's not forget that he's been the best player in the team that have delivered the best season many of us have witnessed.
He'd probably cost as much, if not more than McNulty.I wonder if we have Mohamed Eisa lined up? - Would be well chuffed with that

He could have been playing in the Championship with us.
It is.If Josh Barrett is part of the deal. Reading can F off
If being voted player of the year means that you leave over the summer following (as seems to be the case), time for some tactical voting when it comes to the vote next year - Beavon to the player of the year methinks
Any of us, in McNulty's shoes, would have done exactly the same. It does mean we need two strikers now, as we already needed one. Time for a couple of good loanees I reckon
