Thought Bigi did a great job defensively last night and complemented Vincalot but not nearly as effective as Fleck going forwards.
Not sure if that was the role TM asked him to play, but missed Flecks through balls and vision
Anyway, good full debut on his second coming but hope Fleck fit for Saturday.
Thought Kents flair made a difference as well. Very quick feet last night.

Sounds like he had a good game. Fleck straight back in if fit for me though. Bigirimana is a good signing despite a bit of negativity. He improves the squad as a whole, if not necessarily the first eleven.

Bigi was a bit ropey at the weekend, although coming into a game that was pretty much settled and coasting to a conclusion would be a bit jarring when you're eager to impress. I was highly relieved to hear how well he was playing yesterday.

Fleck back in, but Bigi was excellent last night.

Very tidy, broke up play. I'll be honest I was concerned he was starting after Saturday's cameo but did well.

Squad is looking very strong on paper at the minute, Turner has been huge in both games too.

Fleck would glass him, looks a nasty little bastard.

I'd rather fleck with bigi for backup though!

Ignore Grendel's downer on Bigi.....he will prove a good addition to the squad. He is not a direct replacement for Fleck, but can do a good job. TM is experienced enough to know you need depth in the squad, but also variations on a theme depending on who the opposition is. Sometimes you need the entertainers and then sometimes you need the spoilers.

I think Fleck and Bigi could well play together with Vincelot too, when this Swedish right back joins and is up and running I can see us playing wing backs away from home with three central defenders and midfielders and Murphy roaming about from either wing or behind Armstrong

Agree. Bigi fantastic squad player. Can cover Fleck and Vincelot who both will get suspensions and hopefully not injuries.
Hope he stays all season and hopefully beyond.

I really think if Bigirimana stays beyond January he will be a first team regular

Different types of player for me and think we are lucky to have both at this level, i don't see why they couldn't play in the same side with Fleck being push on more. But while we have the ability to be able to rotate with the quality we have, surely its just about enjoying the entertainment on offer.

If this was boxing it would be a classic mismatch and stopped in round one.

What other league 1 side wouldn't want fleck and Biggi in their squad?

If we are comparing it like this then yes its a mismatch!!! as Big would of boxed at a higher level and at European standard, where as Fleck is a very promising domestic fighter!!!!!.

Is this another attempt at saying Bigi is shit?

Fleck is a better player, and I can't see fleck, Vincelot and bigi playing in the same starting eleven without 1 being played out of position and therefore being ineffectual.

Rupert, we're not going to go 3 at the back with wing backs - bonkers idea. We're doing more than ok playing the current 4231.

4-3-3 with all three of them in midfield, Kent-Armstong-Murphy up front..

Personally I don't think it would be particularly effective. We've played and succeeded attacking with 4 players you take one of those attackers out and replace them with a more defensive minded player and we lose our attacking threat.

I reckon, and bare with me here. I know it's wild, but stick with me. I reckon we remember that this isn't football manager and let Tony Mowbray, a professional football manager, decide what formation we play.

Which, oddly, will be the formation that has taken the club top of the league.

Without saving the game and restarting if we lose too I believe.

The real question really is Bigiamara or Cole as the 5th loan player.

It's an odd effect Bigi has on some of our fans. We must change formation and drop better/in form players and play people out of position to accommodate him in a side that's been outstanding sitting top of the table.....

Lol was just showing how bigi fleck and sir v could play in the same line up. Interesting to see the starting line up Saturday

Gotta be

Rcc
Ricketts
Turner
Martin who has been a revelation
Stokes
Vincelot
Fleck
Job
Murphy
Kent
Armstrong

4-2-3-1

However if no turner or fleck we still have a good team

3-1

Murphy 2
Turner

I've got nothing against changing the team and the setup. Mowbray himself had said every game is different.

He's hardly ever changed formation from memory.
He will never play 3 at the back and wing backs and he's very rarely deployed 4-4-2

I think we lost when we played 4-4-2.

Depending on opposition, i would think TM would pick the best 11 players he thinks will win the game on a week by week basis. He has lots of quality in the squad and having Cole, Vince, Bigi, OB and Fleck to pick from or play together is a great problem to have. I would not be shocked to see these 5 together at some point, i would not put a formation stopping TM for trying it.

Bigi did a good job of recycling possession but the majority of his passing was along the back as he played very deep for a lot of the game. And that's not me moaning by the way, I think this tactic went some way to nullifying Bradford, who were bang in form before our visit. Away from home we may need that style of play but if we had gone a goal down early we may have struggled with that 11 on the pitch. I agree that when O'Brien and Kent came on we looked a lot more adventurous and Bigi seemed to be more involved further up the field.

Well Cole obviously, as long as he's fit and commited.

Not so sure Otis.

Murphy here all year but Turner will almost certainly go back to Cardiff in Jan

Think Bigi will stay all season and Armstrong 50/50 depending on Newcastle form. Kent will not get in Liverpool team so 70/30 he stays.

Will need new new defender if Willis not available/ good enough. Loan or contract??.
