Don't want him to go permanently. If he was to go on loan league 1 would be a better idea, in preparation for next year.

I wouldn't let him go permanently but he is better off getting some first team games rather than playing academy football.

Should let him go on loan. He's not likely to play for us again this season and is lacking confidence. Burnley can probably give him some game time as they are not fighting relegation or pushing for promotion.

Sky Sports understands Burnley are lining up a loan swoop for Coventry City's highly-rated midfielder Gael Bigirimana.

The 18-year-old enjoyed an impressive first half of the season after making his Coventry debut on the opening day of the campaign against Leicester City.
He was subsequently awarded a one-year contract extension to tie him to the Ricoh Arena until 2014, however, he has not featured since early January.

Bigirimana has made 21 appearances in all competitions for the struggling Sky Blues this term and could now be offered the chance to gain further experience at Burnley.
Short-listed for the Championship apprentice of the season award, Bigirimana was sent off when Coventry lost 2-1 at home to Burnley back in October.

Another thought...

Could be the start of sisu cashing in on remaining assets we have.

Our future youth :thinking about:

I think he's in the youth team to let his agent know his level......
I hear he asked to double his wage so he's in the academy team to teach him a lesson.

I'm sure he will only be in the academy because we now have options in that area and better that he keeps playing games for his development. He has done well when called upon but isn't yet ready to do a mans job full-time. He will be better for it and so will we when he comes back stronger next season. Why do people always insist on putting a more sinister or juicy slant on things like a tabloid newspaper?

It's a strange one. I bet SISU are touting him about to other clubs. He should go to League 1 or 2. A move to Burnley signals a permanent transfer in the summer.

Strange couldn't see Burnley wanting him on loan unless they are looking for a permanent move in the summer?

Exactly. If he goes on loan he will be gone permanently.

We need our young players. We have have to keep our good young players otherwise we are truly fooked.

I said on here the other month about Bigi and Thorn having a fallout... Since then he's hardly featured and now he's been touted round to other clubs. Strange that another player is wanted by a mid to top half club contray to what is said on here about us having no decent players for Thorn to work with...

I have been rather puzzled by Bigi's lack of inclusion, at least from the bench.

Thought all the players loved Thorn? Is that Eastwood and Bigi he has now fallen out with perhaps?

Maybe AT hasn't liked him from the start. No idea why, but he did truly slate the kid after he got sent off in that one game didn't he. Thought that was totally uncalled for.

It's a strange one for sure because Bigi looks like he's going to be a really, really good player.

Of course he could be with the academy because he isnt playing well enough to be in the first team squad. Watched him play for the academy against Leicester the other week, looked short of confidence & energy, was pretty ineffective and got substituted half way through second half. Hardly likely to improve either our first team or Burnleys on that basis. He did ok for first few games but lets not get ahead of things he isnt really ready yet.

Think any friction between AT and him probably stemmed from his public ticking off after his sending off. Both have to get past that as the team comes first. There is nothing to suggest this hasnt been put to bed.

As for Burnley interest - might just be paper talk or agent talk to get that improved offer. Cant see him making Burnleys first team squad to be honest at present so what would be the point. Certainly wouldnt command much of a fee either.

just my opinion

Well it says in telegraph today that we've rejected the Burnley loan enquiry, so thats a start.
AT personally saying Bigi is part of the plans for the future.

Good.

I was only putting the suggestion out there and I don't necessarily believe it myself. Just worth considering.

I really rate Bigi so do hope he is indeed part of our future plans. I do think though, if he went on loan to a Championship club that would result in a permanent transfer.

I totally agree. Certainly to a team in the championship who are above us ( not difficult) . To loan a player out for fitness and confidence, they will always be loaned out to a team below you in league position. So if he were to go to a team like Burnley, im sure it would be for an upfront fee, with a view to a permanent. Which we want to avoid at all costs.

I agree OSB - he's made 10 appearances since his red card and ticking off, that is in the past and forgotten. He's out the team because he's lost form and we've brought in Norwood - add that the fact we're now playing 442 not the diamond which I think he would struggle in.

Think a loan move would be good for bigi. Get him loaned out to a team in league 1 or 2, build up his confidence, so he's ready and flying for us next season. Hav a call back policy in place incase of injuries. I DEFINITELY don't think he should be loaned out to any team which my be considering to purchase him or even play in our league for that matter. Having him playing regular games, in a senior team, lower in the leagues, could bring him on leaps and bounds though!

Strange that you would pick the team of today based on how good a player is going to be.:thinking about:

Strange because he hasn't been include in the first team squad for a long time, seemed to lose some confidence. If we were going to loan him out I would have thought it would be a lower league club.

He's a boy from Burundi,
Now he plays for Coventry,
He'll shoot with power and he'll take you out, so get out of his way,
If you pray for a win each day,
You're Bigirimana!
