It's always been the drivers on strike I thought, not the collectors? Soif someone's happy to drive the collectors around...The strike over now?
They would be happy to drive them round for 18 pound an hour plusIt's always been the drivers on strike I thought, not the collectors? Soif someone's happy to drive the collectors around...

You still not getting how the temp stuff works, then? You would think your union would have explained that.
The drivers are scabs at the end of the day

It's not a great look it must be said. Some of the criticism of a Labour council has been OTT (as far as I'm concerned they're welcome to oppose a pay rise as much as the workers are welcome to ask for one) but trying to break a strike in this way is not... great. It's Tory tactics, that.
No point with know it all nick mate
Well you don't seem to get why Temps get paid more...
Bins need emptying.
I know exactly why temps get paid more you boring mess
Why keep going on about what they get paid then?
My word you are simple
Clearly.
You are the one who keeps going on about the temps getting paid more throughout the thread and making a point about it.
"I dont want to get a better paid job because Id have to work more, won't get my great pension and would have to work Christmas week"
Temps get paid more because they don't get your luxuries.
Nick
You talk wet
My last input
Same loaders nick , they control the route mateNo, I'm explaining to you why they are getting paid more per hour than you would.
They have managed to actually get the bins emptied the last couple of times as well!
Why would temp agency drivers want to be striking?
Because they could show a bit of solidarity with people carrying out the same sort of job who are on strike for better conditions.
So the temps should refuse work? It's not going to happen, is it? People will want the work.
Better conditions? Evo has said he doesn't want to get a higher paid job because of the conditions. Just wants more money as well as the good conditions / shorter hours, good pensions, sick pay etc.
Starting this week if it is your blue bin week.
They’ll be collecting both.
Round of applause for the private contractors pulling their weight.
Well the temps can enjoy the ongoing degradation of pay and conditions and become like you, complaining about others having good conditions whilst being completely to ignorant as to why that is so.
Not really, I'd just get another job...
Temps are still just people trying to earn a living. They aren't going to turn work down are they. I just pointed out that the temps "conditions" will be considerably worse than the ones you say about the permanent staff.
Well the temps can just get another job as well then
You know you're in trouble when the Tory opposition are congratualating them on their stance!I must admit I’m amazed a labour council has gone down this route rather than try and resolve the issue
It’s not going to exactly improve moral at council HQ
You know you're in trouble when the Tory opposition are congratualating them on their stance!
Although it really is be careful what you wish for, as the Tories are saying this shows why bin collections should be subcontracted out...
Wait until dodgy Keith wins the contract by promising to be the cheapest, because he hires feral chimps to do the work on a 79 hour working week.Subcontracted out companies are giving the pay rises to be fair
That is the divide and conquer tactic though. Get those that should be on the same side fighting each other instead of joining forces against those that make it so the drivers want higher wages/can't turn down hours. So the temps should refuse work? It's not going to happen, is it? People will want the work.
But then the real question is why are the laws such that these shitty conditions for temp workers are allowed and thus workers are pitted against each other as one set wants better pay, the other better conditions. Not really, I'd just get another job...

Sorry. Only just seen this as I had to go find my binSame collectors as beforestop making stuff up for Internet likes
Because temps are on temp contracts, they don't get the big pension, the holiday pay etc so they tend to get paid a little bit more. It suits some people to do that. But then the real question is why are the laws such that these shitty conditions for temp workers are allowed and thus workers are pitted against each other as one set wants better pay, the other better conditions.
So pay changes were agreed and back dated but now goal posts being moved?Statement: Council notified by Unite of proposed industrial action | Rugby Borough Council
