I was a smudge over zealous in pulling down my garage door ( wife's fault) and I think I've pulled it off the thread and springs broken
Managed to get it shut but it's not right
The garage door is about 20 years old, is it cheaper to get a new door or try to get it back on the thread and replace the springs
I think I may have to get a new door but thought I'd ask anyway
Did the same thing myself a while back, and discovered there's a whole sub-industry based around repairing up-and-over garge doors. They carry stock, don't charge the earth and are capable of doing a whole range of repairs. So, I'd forget replacing the door, and pay someone else to repair it. A lot easier and quicker than sourcing the parts yourself and retensioning those springs using advice on youtube. I'm in Coventry and used First Garage Doors - 02476 012573 and he was great. But you'll find lots of other people doing the same thing online.
