It is like I have said many times before. It doesn't matter how good a player is. If you play him out of position or play in a way that doesn't suit their style of play they will not look as good. You see it all the time.
Some players love it out wide. Put them in the middle and they lose the edge. Some players love it in the middle. But they get put out wide and look useless. Some are good at sitting back and setting others up but are no good at going forward, That is why you have a squad with players coming in and out of the first team. But you need a good manager for it to work. He will play the players to their strengths. For instance Fleck looks a different player under TM. Murphy goes missing most of the time, but when he was put in the Armstrong position he looked a different player and was a constant threat.
How about last game when everyone was having a moan about Fortune starting and said Tudgay should have been in? I saw him being the right player for the opponents and said he would have a good game. And I am not saying I would be a good manager. I would be as poor as SP
You need someone like TM who plays to his teams strengths as well as our opponents weaknesses. Like against Peterboro when he made subs at half time and changed the game. Why didn't he just keep the same players and move them about? Their manager admitted he was outsmarted by a better manager. He would make a better player out of Adams. But that doesn't mean he would play every game. Just when it would suit the opponents and style of play.
