Pretty sure Dave Boddy said on CWR last week that we could have up to 16k?
Assumed I thinkThe original statement basically said the attendance would be capped at 19k split about 50:50 between us and blues with the rest empty for segregation. Why did people think all the blocks were going to be available?
Blues still have 750-800 tickets to shift in the Main Stand. Their allocation equates roughly to their number if season ticket holders.Latest sales numbers ?
30'006 when the Gil Merrick was completed in 1998 but since reduced to 29'500. There were some ridiculously restricted view seats in the mid 1990's in the Kop including three rows of seats right beside the executive boxes that afforded a view of just one penalty box at the Tilton end. Other ground improvements included a widening of the concourses at the Tilton End (hemmed in from behind by a pallets warehouse) and improved/increased disabled facilities. On top of this, since the League Cup Quarter final vs Villa in 2011 the front two rows of the Tilton have had to be netted offIf it’s 50/50, how come “sold out” is 9,500 - St Andrews holds 28k doesn’t it

I'm surprised by that last bit. On Saturday, as it was at Bristol, Tranmere and Wycombe, our support was terrific. Loud, passionate, positive and good humoured, a real credit to the club and the City. Its only really been Rotherham where there has been an unsavoury edgethis season (for me anyway). I know you're talking from personal experiences, but I'd like to think you'd give away days another go soon.

Why when the Gil Merrick was built wasn’t it done in the same style as the kop and tilton?Blues still have 750-800 tickets to shift in the Main Stand. Their allocation equates roughly to their number if season ticket holders.

There are always some that will blame the club for not being able to get a ticket to watch the team that a few weeks ago they were never going to watch in Birmingham but for some reason now it's differentThere will be a few hundred from Season Ticket holders freed up anyway.
Are we really going to get to the point where people get salty because they can't get a ticket?
Are you new to Coventry City? There will be a few hundred from Season Ticket holders freed up anyway.

No but it should have been made clearer I thinkThere will be a few hundred from Season Ticket holders freed up anyway.

But it’s so much taller than the others. Couldn’t it be a similar height and those extra seats at the top be in the corner.I assume due to the close proximity of the railway behind it
The statement didn't have any of that iirc. It simply gave the Blues allocation and specified which stands would be available to each club. The CCFC statement said:
Coventry City fans will be in the Kop Stand as usual, selling into the Tilton Road Stand if required.
It didn't mention stopping half way. It's done now, but perhaps they should have made it clearer a day or so ago.
Why when the Gil Merrick was built wasn’t it done in the same style as the kop and tilton?
There's really not that much room in the corner for all the upper tier seats, its not a huge gap. Plus I think its used for emergency vehicle access. But it’s so much taller than the others. Couldn’t it be a similar height and those extra seats at the top be in the corner.

You'd have to ask those experts at what makes for an atmospheric stadium- Gold, Sullivan & Brady. The Gil Merrick is one of worst new stands of all.
Anyone else got the gut feeling this has replay written all over it?
Replay can't be a good thing! The more the games pile up the harder it'll be for promotion.
Nuts the amount of people on Twitter who seem to know so much about stadium layouts, policing and safety at football matches.
I know, it's something to whinge about isn't it?
Someone has suggested that Blues will outnumber us by 5,000. Why do people complain without doing basic research.
Basic research isn't visible on social media, but ranting on twitter/FB is...Someone has suggested that Blues will outnumber us by 5,000. Why do people complain without doing basic research.
Isn't that impossible?
Was built in 1998. At the time Railtrack turned down proposal to build a stand that overhung the railway line or put the rail line through a tunnel so Blues had to have a design which shortened the pitch length (St Andrews used to be amongst the biggest pitches along with Highfield Road) and built upwards more steeply than the Kop and Tilton. The reason the Main Stand wasn't replaced in the 1990's / early 2000's was do with the listed status of the circa 1890's flats behind them and the issue of natural light but when it eventually is replaced it is likely to be a copy of the Kop (perhaps with more executive seating) which ought to take capacity of St Andrews up by 5000 to 34'000Why when the Gil Merrick was built wasn’t it done in the same style as the kop and tilton?
Never been a big fan of the Gil Merrick Stand. Added 4000 seats to the capacity and executive box facilities compared with the old Railway End but done fairly cheaply in comparison with the Kop and Tilton which was built 5 years earlier with the help of Football Trust money. Sully and Brady made a fortune out of Blues and hardly spent a penny. Good business acumen I grant them. A lot of our fans long for them back but only because what's followed since has been ten times worse. You'd have to ask those experts at what makes for an atmospheric stadium- Gold, Sullivan & Brady. Yeah, not the sharpest tool that one. They'll be slightly more of us all told.
Also saw one person harrass the twitter admin about 'how many sold', replying to a tweet with a link to an article that tells you exactly that.
