Quote from Bassini:
Bassini told the Jewish Telegraph: “My only desire all along has been to help Bolton. Now the truth can come out. I will be at the match on Saturday against Coventry City.”
What a sorry state of affairs ‘you really have to feel for their poor fans.
Perhaps they were hanging on so that the new owners could get the income rather than the creditorsShould this have had any impact on the game going ahead though? The game was scheduled to go ahead and tickets put on sale prior to any takeover happening. The club is still under the control of the administrator and can still fulfill fixtures during that time. If the court order was filed today, what was the issue yesterday?
Either way, an horrendous situation for Bolton fans. What a travesty.
Yeh, I wondered if this would happen, almost by default.Could be a behind closed doors game
When you have clubs like Bolton and Bury in turmoil and stuff like our groundshare and all the other clubs with off field problems going through hard times then all you see on sky is shit players going for millions of pounds it's unbelievable there's not more being done on the EFL or FA side of things and not doing more of things to help sort the club's out surly that's what their there for. It makes me sick. Players being sold for more than a football club give over
..Sorry rant over and out......PUSB
According to people on the radio this morning, you have to make a specific request and justification to the EFL to be able to play a game behind closed doors. Inability to sell tickets in time would not, in my view, be sufficient justification!Yeh, I wondered if this would happen, almost by default.

Two things spring to mind:-
1. Why did the High Court grant the injunction from Bassini to prevent the sale to someone else? Yes, he may have been an interested party at some stage, but that surely can't prevent the sale of the club.
2. How come the EFL are all over Bury, suspending their games 5 days in advance because of their failure to provide assurances of financial viability, and yet they have not imposed the same sanction against Bolton. This game should be suspended, and Bolton penalised for not fulfilling their fixtures.
They’ve already been docked points and are almost certain to drop down again, don’t see the point in further penalties against them. You can only kick something so much and it’s hardly going to help them recover from this messAccording to people on the radio this morning, you have to make a specific request and justification to the EFL to be able to play a game behind closed doors. I'm not advocating giving us a walkover, but it doesn't provide adequate preparation for anyone (fans, players, police, etc.). The EFL should grow a pair (again!) and announce it is postponed to a date TBC.And frankly, I don't want to be given 3 points. The whole point is that it's entertainment - I want to watch the game.
This is an entertainment industry and I would rather play Bolton when they are up and running and have a proper squad - I feel that the game will be re-arrangedI'm not advocating giving us a walkover, but it doesn't provide adequate preparation for anyone (fans, players, police, etc.). Never that simple though, City's history in games you would expect them to have strolled is not great.I'd much rather get a win, get the goal difference up while we can as well
Forget entertainment. I'd rather play tomorrow and get 3 points. It's the same as when we're due to play a team that are decimated with injuries, you take advantage of that.
This is being selfish of course, but equally, cancelling the game at this late stage would actually create another headache for Bolton that they could probably do without. Bolton fans want the game played, even though they're pretty certain they'll lose. Hopefully it's on, even if it's behind closed doors.

Not going to be playing are we... Lets be honest
The odds are shortening by the minute
Won’t be on the gate, I don’t think it’ll be played.
Need to know by 12 because otherwise its a shambles
Is this an official shambles deadline ?. If so, sky sports better roll out Jim white
It was print at home on Wednesday morning, why can it still not be that?Literally the only way we can pay now is on the gate imo, that's the only realistic probability for supporters, problem is arranging coach travel and everything a day early, be a severely depleted away crowd and home crowd too probably.

I think it was stopped more because of who would get the profit at that time as takeover was clearly in motion.
Bolton and Ipswich are the only two I need for my list. Never mind.
