A very interesting presentation, clearly Portman Road needed a lot of work before the start of this season but it is an old stadium however things keep moving on and our 20+ year old stadium will be a bit behind in certain aspects.

Asking about what work is needed at the CBS Arena to bring facilities in line with Premier League requirements would be a very good question to ask at the next fans forum with management.

I'm sure there's lots of things at the CBS which are ready to go for PL football but the money will allow us to make cosmetic and required changes.

What's happened to my club that we're discussing moving the tv cameras to free up a bit of seating

Im afraid that is just wrong, Nearly all clubs have far too little hospitality areas and are always trying to create more space - Liverpool even have hospitality in a local pub and they bus you to the game! We are lucky to have a ground that was built with this in mind.
The relative loyalty of hospitality patrons kept the club alive when we had gates of 7000 and are a very profitable earner for the club.

There are too many seats for the amount of people that can fit in the hospitality lounges. That’s the point.

Either the lounges need extending or the seats converting

Looks like other new build stadiums have designated areas for cameras.

Another thing that requires money to fix.

Let's be honest though, televised football isn't a post 2003 phenomena. Just another example of the complete lack of thought that went into the design of the arena

Potentially but maybe Leicester and Southampton have installed positions for them.

Easy to do when you either own the stadium or have the money for the installation.

If we get promoted, we shouldn't be closing a couple hundred seats for two camera men.

The ownership status is irrelevant to it really, at the point the stadium was designed it was designed for use by us

This area here was the place for a camera. Seats were purposely not put there. There was a similar spot in the South Stand, along with the permanent cameras at the back of the East Stand.

The ground was designed for them, but the technology has changed

The Balcony bar was introduced to allow more people to go up there as food not part of the package.
It still seems unpopular. People clearly don’t want to sit in the Balcony whereas Club Coventry is hardly ever available despite having no view of the pitch .

Every time I've been in the Balcony Street bar Lounge, the lounge has been pretty full and food is available, that's why they call it a Street bar.

It's a brilliant view from the Balcony, we will be in there again against Middlesbrough.

Whatever happens this season you think these are the crowds we get all the time now ?if it is they need to change a few things, wev‘e become a team that’s always going to be close to the play offs if not in them, what a turn around, I always thought i wish we were like mboro Norwich or WBA Always fighting for a play off spot now they wish they were us, we’ve come along way in a short time, brilliant

I remember in the Coleman years looking in envy at the likes of WBA or Norwich and wishing we were just a team that could at least compete for the play offs. We're that now

do they then delay the 2nd half ?? so if we have 1 minute stoppage time in the 1st half, and someone else has 10 minutes - could there be an extended half time delay ?

I think I remember reading somewhere that all sides reaching the Prem have a year to improve where the cameras can go. Might include a high level gantry for the shots looking down.

Right, I've realised I might be able to get that Saturday off parenting as Mrs WM is potentially taking the kids out.

If that's the case...if anyone has a spare ticket, I'd be keen

Up to a point.

But Norwich or WBA are unlikely to become the basket case that we were. We just have to pray that we never become that again.

If what we are right now is our natural level, then I would happily take that

I think what an interesting question is what do people think we could pull in without capacity restrictions?

Personally I think we could've easily got 35k for the WBA game. Probably 40k for the Boro game (depending on how we get on at the weekend)

With the capacity restrictions of modern grounds, our support levels are probably close to the highest in our history.

If you look at the lowest crowd this season being 24.5k, there is only one season where the lowest crowd has been higher, and that was 1967-68 (first year in Div 1) at 28k.

When you keep in mind that ticket prices have risen massively above inflation over the last 30 years, the crowds we get now really are incredible

Depends on prices.

£30 and we'd get 45k against Boro. We are a major city with a big wider catchment area.

Does anyone know if you can pay to upgrade to an adult ticket? Just to confirm, it’s not in the family stand.

Did not do anything-just tell him to scan the ticket and go in. It’s not like the minimum wagers on the turnstiles will be checking everyone’s ticket that goes in.

Isn't there a light on the concourse side of the turnstyle that lights up to indicate a concession/junior admission?
Or is this a myth on a par with the TV detector van?
