Just wondering your general thoughts on Mowbray. Are you wanting him to stay next season?

Blokes a legend up here like, shame the way it ended. Good luck in your relegation fight. Have faith in Mogga

Hopefully a legend here too.

I would say the vast majority of fans already rate the bloke quite highly, so I would say we pretty much all want him to stay next season.

Hi Rodders.... I think 2 losses from 10 games in charge concludes the impact he has had. Like most I hope he stays, sadly like most I suspect our "owners" might scupper that aspiration.
I liked him before he came to Coventry, always thought he spoke very well, honestly and with a great deal of integrity.
Thanks for dropping onto CCFC boards.

Certainly would but just not sure he will get budget he needs or wants .i think and i hope im wrong on this that he will go.i really hope not but our owners are fools so wouldnt surprise me.

He's made a massive difference and I think the majority want him to stay a lot lot longer. As Otis says, hopefully he can be a legend here too!

He seems to know what he wants. How to set his teams up. What he expects of the players. And the players appear to want to respond to that!

You'll definitely get honesty. He always tries to play good football, noticed you'd drawn away yesterday at Bristol City which made me think of posting. He brought in most of our better players this season so has an eye for a player. I'd love him to be successful, hopefully that's with you boys and he gets you promoted next year. Might get some loan signings from the younger lads here he knows

Don't get me wrong, I love the bloke so far. But what you are saying is standard procedure rinse and repeat for every manager.

He has gotten the best from a very mediocre set of players, and that is not an easy task to do, as our last manager clearly proved. He came in, recognised the weaknesses very quickly and acted to correct them. Unfortunately, higher-level, more ambitious clubs will probably recognise his talents and tempt him away.

The big problem here is TM tells it as it is and with great honesty and integrity. Unfortunately our owners are not and have probably made a promise to support him with money for new players, a new stadium and a brand new bike ??
No he won't stay with these people but I do think he may set up a new scouting structure and identify players we should look at to loan next year.
But as regards to staying, NO he's only here to save us from the drop and advise what we need to do next. Which our owners will immediately drop when his office door is closed.
At Coventry City we should all remember what these people have already done to our club and never forget where they have taken us to during their tenure.

Really hope you are wrong, his impact is renewing my interest again after a disillusioned period. If SISU fuck this up, then I can't see me ever returning until after they have gone.

People on here no me, I am from the north east (Darlington) 56 years Cov fan. Watched many a game at the Boro under TM. First class manager, to good for the 1st div. if he stays at Cov next season we will get promoted, but with our owners, he will not be with us next season.

Yup, managers' strengths turn into weaknesses when it goes less well.

I saw one that Mowbray's strength was he kept a settled side and didn't chop and change. I bet if he stays next season, Willis is right back for all of it and we end up struggling... that won't be seen as such a good thing!

Anyway, ref: Mowbray then yep, I'd like him to stay. Won't say he's the second coming yet though, as he's currently in new manager bounce zone.

What he does have, however, is a reputation for coming up with sides who actually score goals... and that'd be a nice change! Only time we've had a top attacking unit in the past decade was half a season when we were in the wrong place!

Very true. I went to the Trust meeting where Pressley was the guest speaker. He'd been there two months and I thought, wow, this guy is going to be brilliant for us.

A little harsh on Coleman I think Otis. While I was as glad as anyone to see Coleman go, I did think his post match interviews were honest and down to earth.

Shame was he couldn`t correct on the pitch the shortcomings he often acknowledged in his interviews.

Getting back on topic, I remember that after Coleman was sacked, Mowbray who was living locally at the time (Berkswell I think) expressed an interest in the City job. I didn`t know much about him then, but as I knew he believed in attacking football I was hoping he`d get the job. Mind you, if he had been appointed he might well have left afterwards anyway when the Middlesboro job came up and if so wouldn`t be here now.

Well, maybe it is me then, but I picked up on SP's post match nonsense from pretty much the first few games for us.

Fans were saying how poorly players had played and he was saying they were 'terrific' and 'fantastic' and 'outstanding.'

Only 2 who have talked sense for me these past few years have been Mark Robins and now Tony Mowbray.

I listen to those 2 talking and believe they have watched the same game as me.

I think TM is a sticker...as I said on another thread....TM is old school in the best possible way, his values are solid, and he's straight talking and honest. If he starts talking about next season, I believe it's because he has every intention of staying, and returning our club to it's true status. We cannot compare him with any manager we've had in the past few years. This guy is not in it for the glamour, he's here do do a job, and he's not going to walk away before he's finished it. The only way he won't be here next season is if sisu say 'thank you very much' etc....and I think that's very unlikely. Bottom line is TM took this job pretty much on his terms, and so far everything he said he wanted to do with this club, is happening. Next season is going to be very exciting....
