Abouther big game tuesday night with a good ticket offer to entice the fans ( shame the players aren't) with the buy one get one free deal so what sort of crowd can we expect? Usually get around 7k midweek these days so should be 14k+ does anyone know if this deal applies to away fans?

How do ST holders get the free tickets?

You need to go to the club shop with your ST booklet and exchange a voucher from the back for a ticket.

I don't think it will be 14,000.

Hope I'm wrong but I am thinking just over 11,000 tops.

There will be more than were at the egg chasers today. Top flight (apparently) teams and only 5.400 turn up. The freebie tickets must have run out.

I saw that and think it must be a typo, looked more than 10k again on the picture I've seen. Its probably a closer number to the number of actual paying tickets though.

More likely the 16,800 for this type of game in truth. I doubt there will be more than 10,000 on Tuesday, even with free tickets given out. When I was a ST holder and received these we struggled to give them away and that was in the Championship, we used to drive into less salubrious areas of Cov a few days before the match and offer them to the first kids we saw wearing a Cov shirt who hadn't got a ticket.

These are very good numbers for leauge 1.

Some clubs would kill for these gates.

Dont understand how you can say we have awful support. If you look home gates we have some of the highest in the leauge.

To be fair a lot of season ticket holders already go with their mates/family or anyone likely to go up and watch so unlikely to need an extra ticket or even find anyone to have it. I must have asked 7 or 8 people now and no one wants it, either I'm terrible company or people just don't want to watch us. Still having said that I reckon 12k, the deal extends to away fans so could see 1000/1500 away fans.

Fair play to whoever at the club this idea was giving something back to the fans is something I'll never critisize

Maybe, I'm comparing us to clubs like Norwich, Leicester, Southampton, Sheffield Utd, Sheffield Wednesday, Charlton, Wolves, Nottingham Forest when they were at this level. You are comparing us to Rochdale, Crewe, Walsall, Oldham, Crawley, Yeovil.

You're comparison is probably a closer reflection on our fans and club than mine though, I'm probably expecting too much.

Considering what our fans have been through, total lack of success, generally poor football, plus all of the Sisu shenanigans I think it is hardly surprising that many have given up. Put any of the 'big' clubs you mention through our set of circumstances and I think you would see the same result. I still go and so long. As we play our home games in Coventry, I still will. However the lack of hope with these people in charge is a killer. We need them to go before any real recovery can take place.

Went to Sheffield U recently. Similar club to us.While we have floundered and been on a downward spiral for the past few years, they have been promoted to PL , been involved in play offs, regularly finished high in their leagues and been on numerous cup runs taking them to latter stages of the competitions (FA Cup semi final last season). They have owners who seem to care and to respect their fans. If we had had. All of this our gates would be at least as good as theirs, probably higher.

If fans can't be arsed to turn out then we deserve the shit club we have, we don't have any god given right to be in the championship or top flight At least thats what I think sometimes

Agreed. People need to give up this 'ah why waste money on CCFC' argument. It was FREE to so many tonight and they still cannot be arsed to turn up.

We need to accept that we are down to diehards only. This is not a competition to find superfans and we need the team on the pitch to entice the gloating supporter into a more regular return. At the moment we are simply and sadly miles away from that.

Anyone that continues to go watch the team deserves 'superfan' status, in my opinion. If this club ever turns things around, the 7000 core deserve priority for tickets for life!

Why aren't Sheffield Utd down to the die hards yet? getting 18k+ consistently, Portsmouth 15k+ in a lower league.

All I'm hearing is excuses, there is no defence. Our support is pathetic even for the level, circumstances and any other excuse you want to throw out.

In all fairness, give me both their clubs' positions right now. Both in a far better state than us. No club has had the shite we have been through.

Crowd was still shocking tonight.

Sheff Utd are top 6 and have always had decent support, I'd imagine we would be getting 12-14k+ if we were in the top 6 at this stage of the season
