The RICOH is the Home of CCFC

The RICOH has our badge on it

The RIOCH has CCFC on the seats

Fans paid to have their lifetime seats at THE RICOH

I have a brick at THE RICOH

People have their ashes at THE RICOH

Why on earth would ANYONE been in any way annoyed that fan groups are looking to hold CCFC events in any guise at the RICOH !

Emotional and innacurate. We have only been tenants. The badge sums it all up as well don't you think?

I don't believe for one minute sisu will get funding to construct a new stadium. However, if they or another owner did, and the venue was sensible I would back it 100%. The Ricoh is owned by a council that can't even repair its roads properly. I can't stand it. It's better as a facility than Highfield road but it is an empty, souless construction.

That's even worse! I thought they were independent of the council? What do you mean?

You know exactly what I mean. ACL are currently repaying a loan to the Council are they not?

Why do you get so emotional when someone defends the football club on here?

Tell me if the choice was Coventry return to the Ricoh only if ACL are liquidated would you take it?

No sadly not. If you rented a house and paid the mortgage I don't think you'd be too happy if you found the shed in the garden was being used for exhibitions and concerts and you get no benefit - would feel like home would it?

The council bought out the mortgage so the Ricoh could have a preferential rate. To the benefit of ACL and SISU; potentially. The return on that mortgage is to the benefit of the people of Coventry.

If you are so anti Coventry City Council why don't you just move somewhere else? Unless you are an anarchist and just believe in the abolishment of government and state? Perhaps you should start a thread on decentralisation or anarcho syndicalism!

It seems as if Nick has finally got his wish when starting the thread and the other anti-ACL nutters have waded in with the usual claptrap e.g. "they have robbed the club of 10 points".

For pity's sake, give it up, most people want to watch Coventry in Coventry and don't want to endlessly read childish abuse of the club's previous landlords.

I'm defending our football club's home.

That would depend on the circumstances. If it was liquidation through its own incompetence then yes I would take that. If it was liquidation due to immoral outside actions taken by sisu then no I could not accept that.

Incredible.

They have robbed us of 10 points you idiot. It's funny how people say this wouldn't happen at Millwall and Leeds - well there wouldn't be one council house window intact there either and a shareholder of the landlord would not stay on a fans forum there for long either. Your acceptance that we are out if the playoffs only due to a disgraceful spiteful decision by ACL speaks volumes.

It's the COVENTRY CITY/SKY BLUES TRUST---the clue is in the name, why on earth would they want to promote
a shed in Northampton for, unless it's to lose their own membership.

So you would accept anything SISU did, immoral, illegal, corrupt, anything as long as the football club survive? Yet you criticise ACL for trying to collect the rent it is entitled to? Also I haven't seen much evidence of SISU negotiating?

I think you are the incredible one Grendel!

CCFC will not own the shop sisu will so I would have thought that the only trade it would do would be children's kit's for Xmas.

It is a nice gesture that entry fees will go to charity but will the profits from the bar etc? It is a good idea but would still much rather it happened at a struggling pub or function room rather than the Ricoh.

Not often i am reduced to swearing but how fucking petty can you get, ooooooh ACL might charge a bit extra , hey ho but maybe they will be opening a room just for this event bar stsff etc and other overheads might just come into it or should they do it at a loss?

And you complain about the petty arguing between sisu and acl,

UNBELIEVEABLE

You really think it would make a profit?

It would need a minimum of around 1000 to break even

I take as a positive that ACL employees are rejoining this forum to frantically supporting this. Things clearly aren't so rosy in the garden after all.

why does everyone jump on nicks back the moment he tries to put a balanced view point across, all he said was that a local pub or venue rather than an acl venue would probably have benefitted more ..he is right..

Would that be the pubs that profiteer of the back of matches at the Ricoh by charging for parking that is free the rest of the week.

The point is Grendel, it doesn't matter what is going on at ACL. It is what is going on at SISU?

1 Renegotiate rent
2 Buy it
3 Build from scratch (where and at what cost? option 2 is cheaper)
4 Die in Northampton

Just to provide some "balance".

As this is a CCFC game being shown in pubs, then surely there is an argument that SISU are entitled to the profits on F&B?

You might also argue that they should get the profits from the Quiz and Darts nights and be be given the freehold of the pub. After all, they do have to make a return on their investment.
