No Wilson - happily take a point. I think this is pretty close to safe now (IMHO)

First time in a long while my prediction has come in Only thing I have to smile about though.

Just watched the United game (on mute with Cov game on in the back ground). Vidic and Rooney both cheating. So disappointing to see how weak footballers are that they feel the need to cheat an opposition. Wish they weren't such girls. Players antics like this make the game a non contact sport before long

Totally safe, no doubt in my mind. 3 teams need to get 10pts in their remaining 6 or 7 games and City to get none in their last 6 games.

Losing Wilson and Clarke then not getting an effective replacement killed our season. It was always going to take time to readjust.

I meant the leaky defense

I genuinely believe we will be back at the Ricoh next season, we need to keep Wilson. Marshall could be a decent winger with a pre season behind him. Robinson showed some real class last week v Stevenage so onwards and upwards next year. Respect to all who attended tonight. Pusb

Seems like 3 games in under a week took its toll a bit but 7 points from 9 is a top return indeed. Desperately need the off field problems holding the team back to be settled and give everyone a fair crack at the top 6 next season.

Not what the game plan should be when playing at home. Irrespective of the personnel that's available IMO.

But 7 from 9 isn't bad

Coventry City needed a couple of magnificent saves from Joe Murphy to secure their point against Bradford in a game that could scarcely have been more different from November’s 3-3 draw at Valley Parade.


Already resolved to being without injured duo Callum Wilson and Dan Seaborne, Steven Pressley was forced into an additional change when Jordan Clarke reported sick – the manager responding with a 4-2-3-1 formation that saw Cyrus Christie recalled to the back line while on-loan Nathan Eccleston made his first start and Mark Marshall his second.


Bradford only had to make one tweak, Carl McHugh filling in for Adam Drury who was injured during Saturday’s 1-0 triumph at Leyton Orient, and there was also a change of referee, Lee Probert replaced by Jose Mourinho’s mate Chris Foy.


The Sky Blues knocked the ball around neatly enough in the opening stages but struggled to find any penetration against the Bantams’ two banks of four and it was the visitors who looked far more likely to break the deadlock.


McArdle volley from a half-cleared free-kick was straight at Murphy while Jones was well wide with a long-range effort.


But City were lucky to survive when Dolan’s shot was deflected wide by Willis after Reach had left Christie for dead near the corner flag and Murphy had to pull off two brilliant reflex saves in the space of five minutes as McHugh’s deep cross picked out McLean for a free header and then Darby teed up a fierce shot by Stead.


Christie hacked clear from McHugh when a corner sparked a frantic scramble in the six-yard box and the half was ticking into overtime when Coventry finally contrived their first shot of the match – Christie’s low effort an easy claim for McLaughlin but prompting a loud ironic cheer from the frustrated home supporters.


The Bantams opened the second half in similarly threatening style, Dolan slamming the ball into the wall when Stead won a cheap free-kick against Webster and the Sky Blues surviving their closest shave to date when Bennett slung over a right-wing cross and Reach climbed to head against the angle of post and bar.


Coventry briefly had their fans on their feet just before the hour when Baker slipped the ball through to Eccleston, but the linesman was flagging for offside as McLaughlin pulled off a sharp save from the Blackpool man.


Marshall’s low cross flashed across the face of the Bradford goal as Coventry developed a rare flowing move.


Pressley made a double substitution in the 76th minute, Delfouneso replacing Eccleston who had run himself into the ground up front while Thomas went on for Robinson. And he was forced to use his third replacement four minutes later when Matrshall picked up a knock and McGeouch was given a rare run-out.

Glad we never got that tool Lee Probert ,but I think his replacement was not the Premier ref Chris foy.

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has praised his players after the 0-0 draw against Bradford City at Sixfields.

The Sky Blues, who were missing key players such as Jordan Clarke, Callum Wilson, Dan Seaborne and John Fleck, battled for point with the Bantams in a competitive game.

City have now claimed seven points out of a possible nine and conceded just one goal in the process.

The Sky Blues are now nine points from the relegation zone and nine points from the play-offs, and Pressley has praised the efforts.

The City boss said: "I thought it was a terrific point for us. The team really had to work hard tonight and the praise has to go for the defence who kept that clean sheet.

"We've really tightened up at the back recently and if you told me before the three games we'd have seven points out of nine, I'd have taken it.

"All the players have left everything on the pitch and I was delighted to see the way Nathan Eccleston worked tonight.

"He worked really hard up front and put himself about which is exactly what I asked for."

Jack Finch, Louis Garner, and Ryan Haynes were all on the bench tonight, despite having to play in the 2-1 defeat in the Under-21s against Sheffield United yesterday.

The City boss has also praised Mark Marshall for his efforts and gave an update on absentees Callum Wilson and Dan Seaborne.

He added: "I was delighted with Mark Marshall. I thought he was outstanding tonight. His effort was fantastic to see and he had to come off with cramp which shows how much he put into it.

"It was a big performance for him tonight and has definitely made an impression. He only came off for cramp so he should be fine going forward.

"Callum Wilson had a slight hamstring problem but there seems to be no tear so we're going to monitor it but we're hopeful he should be fine.

"Dan Seaborne has a bruised bone and that is another one we're going to have a good look at.

"Jordan Clarke was ill tonight. Obviously, we're hoping a lot of these absentees will be back for the weekend's game."

Not bad season so far on the pitch - we would be in top 6 now without deduction!

This point should see us safe hopefully.
