Guessing Klopps been lined up & deal is now sorted & will be in place after the international break.

Decision had been made before the Merseyside derby aledgedly, Klopp already spoken to before Rodgers sacking

If it is one of these managers, they certainly wont take this whole transfer committee that they have in place there. I feel sorry for him to be honest but results talk for themselves I guess

I think Liverpool in some respects is possibly one of the hardest managers jobs in football. For the weight of expectation if nothing else. Also I don't know who does the scouting and signing of players but I struggle to think of a club who consistently overpay for mediocre overrated player's more than Liverpool. The managers seem to come and go but the general quality of players coming in never seem to change, with the very odd exception.

Jamie Carrager "Liverpool are becoming Tottenham. They think they are a big club but the real big clubs aren't concerned about what they do"...says it all about Liverpool & their fans for me. They are the new pre-Fergie Man Utd - a football owes it to us attitude.

They've been like Tottenham for the last 20 years.

4 points from 2nd, should perhaps have been given at least until Christmas as no point letting him spend the cash in the summer. New manager can't change personnel until then anyhow. Must have someone like klopp lined up or pointless to me.

maybe somebody was about to move for their number 1 choice so had to act now.

Another British manager bites the dust to be replaced by a foreigner. I can see a future where there are no British managers in the Premier League and probably no British players either. The fact is Brendan Rodgers had a pretty decent record. Liverpool will always be second best to Man U, Man C and Chelsea. They are like Arsenal, perennial also-rans who mistakenly think they are underachieving but in reality are achieving at the level they deserve.

ANY major marque can collapse when the money is withdrawn. Roman or the Sheikh move out in the morning...those clubs especially would suffer. Man Utd are a different setup but have ridiculous levels of debt so are in an equally precarious position.
People talk about fanbases...but even the fans can be alienated & lose interest. Look at us! And VW.

Klopp is a brilliant manager and a perfect fit for Liverpool.

Can see Rodgers going abroad and doing well. He's a good coach, maybe some time away from the 24/7 spotlight will do him good.

I would agree on Klopp, come January he would have been snapped up by another club so they had to move now to sign him. It is a risk granted but he will inject much needed enthusism back into that side.

I do feel sorry for BR but it was the right decision.

The managerial merry-go-round continues to spin and spin. In my opinion Liverpool will finish with Klopp much as they would with Rogers (possibly a place higher). The table is still distorted with the likes of palace n Leicester much higher than they will eventually finish. And Chelsea as yet to get going. I think Liverpool will finish outside the top 4 but then I don't think they have the players or infrastructure to finish higher

The Klopp press conference is well worth a watch.

I don't get the sympathy & patience shown towards Rodgers...

..He was simply a massive failure at Liverpool.....So much so, I wish they'd keep him for a couple more years.

Take out the season where Suarez carried them to 2nd....and you have a man who spent more than £300M & achieved the sum total of jack shit!
