As mad as it sounds, I really don't feel like the optics matter. Mainly cos a lot of their supporters are also doing their damnedest do blame everything on anyone and anything else other than the government. It'll still be a GPs fault for Turkey shortages. Or blame the teachers for no pigs in blankets. This is Boris now mate, he’s spunking cash everywhere so sure he can find a few quid to get the 50k HGV licences through a bit quicker (i would’ve thought the optics of problems over Xmas aren’t worth the risk of not sorting it)
What a knobhead.
No, this is exactly what you voted for.
You won, get over it.
Voting for people to be more patriotic ffs
It genuinely could be anybody on the radio couldn't it ?... I'm struggling to believe that somebody would come out with that on national radio
Such is my trust of the media in 2021
It's just too cliche isn't it ?
" I voted leave to be more patriotic "
Good try BBC
No it's Kate Morgan.
Prominent farming Brexiter.

So I've looked into it , and by prominent do you mean came to the media's attention 2 weeks ago ?
It's a very VERY strange thing to say isn't it?
I voted leave for people to be more patriotic?
It's cliche nonsense, who speaks like that ?
She's a leave voter definitely, I'm genuinely struggling with what she's said ... she's had a mareShe's a plant. More remainer bollocks. Likes of Tony and PVA are being played like a fiddle.
Defensive people really. So I've looked into it , and by prominent do you mean came to the media's attention 2 weeks ago ?

Who willingly embarrases themselves with such verbal diarrhea on national radio ?
Very odd

Shows how bad it is when even I struggle to believe somebody can be so dense on national radio , turns out its true
My god
Defensive people really.
Simply avoiding /deflecting the view that her vote impacted on the shortage of slaughter's/butchers affecting her industry.
Sounds like the standard talk to me.
Can't ever remember somebody saying to me they voted to be more patriotic , heard a few things like control our borders etc ... but those words have never been uttered to me to be fair... it's bizarre
Not specifically that. The the complete lack of awareness in what they were really ‘potentially’ voting for.
Politicians driving it with blue passports etc .Not specifically that. The the complete lack of awareness in what they were really ‘potentially’ voting for.
Scaremongering wasn’t it?
Apologies you're correct, she's had a mareNo, this is exactly what you voted for.

She may be a plant but it takes a matter of seconds of searching online to find that this isn't her first appearance on TV or radio and that she's been campaigning for Brexit for years and claiming it would be brilliant for farmers. She's a plant. So yes should could be a plant and its some PR long game but isn't it more likely that she's someone who voted, and campaigned for, leave who has now been negatively impacted by the reality of that?

But it’s not really an issue is it? The notion she’s an example of why people voted leave is absurd.
I heard people say they were voting remain as they thought we’d not be allowed to play in the euros anymore
Remainers playing the long game. Got her planted years ago, I do take my hat of to their sneaky remaining tactics.
She said she voted for brexit to tighten border controls as well. Also directly affecting her business.
I'm in a similar position although I'm fairly sure it's a serious post. Can’t work out if you are on the wind up or not.
Again it’s not really a story is it? The remain campaign was poor and focused purely on negatives of leaving and not positives of remaining - and it’s obvious that short term impacts vs long term are you be considered
frankly her farm can go bust for all I care but I guess that’s not the discussion
The funny thing is the same arguments are used by sturgeon and many on here look at her favourably

We've heard all about this 'negative' campaign but the leave campaign was to change things. That's a much easier sell. The only defence is saying how it would be worse with that change - being negative about it. If they said that the regions would continue to benefit from EU grants etc or that the cheaper wages kept prices of things like food low then this was jumped upon as negative or unpatriotic and that the British govt could improve funding to the regions with more control and that less foreign workers would allow Brits to get jobs and improve wages.
Leave could say all sorts of stuff and be positive because they could claim it would be better than now. The 'sunlit uplands'. They could claim freedom for farmers and fishermen, less red tape for importers/exporters, more money to the NHS. All sounding very positive. But thus far all proving to not be true. The 'negative' stance is proving to be accurate. Even from the day after the vote the main protagonists like Farage and Rees-Mogg were rowing back on the benefits and people like Dyson started making plans to move into Europe.
It's easier to entice someone to leave the person they're with to be with you cos it would be some much better - you'd have fun and it'd be a non-stop party. Years later when you're sitting in front of the TV having both spent all day at work so you can pay the bills it's a much harder sell when someone else is giving them the eye and making the same promises of how much better things will be.
Let's say someone started a rejoin campaign now. That campaign could take the positive stance because it could claim the changes would be beneficial. Worker shortages reduced, import/export problems removed, markets to sell products or work in. Whereas those who still supported Brexit would have to take the negative stance, saying that rejoining would be much worse.

Which is why we are now so fucked upI would love Labour to start a rejoin campaign - what a vote winner
As for voting for change we've in reality had a Tory government for 4 elections in a row
Which is why we are now so fucked up
I would love Labour to start a rejoin campaign - what a vote winner
