As you know i'm a Brighton fan and just wanted to know how many you will bring down ?

Try avoiding to drive if possible as you will find it very difficult to park.

If travelling by train, try to drink around Brighton station. There's plenty of pubs and obviously a short walk to the station. Aim to board the train around 2pm or earlier if poss as the queues are bad.

After the game try and stay behind for a beer at the ground to avoid the station while the queues die down.

Any other info just ask

Alright mate,
I'm stopping at mates in crawley over the weekend.
We are planning to drive from crawley at around 10 in the morning and having a long day in brighton, 4of us are going the game and 3 of the group are going round brighton, is there any all day parking in the town or?

You can use the Park & Ride (you will need to get a Travel Voucher from CCFC for that), or you can park in the city centre, which is bloody expensive. To be honest, you're better off getting the train from Three Bridges (Crawley) into Brighton, and getting the train home later. Your ticket from Three Bridges to Brighton will also get you to Falmer.

There's a pub over the way in the village of Falmer. Or there's real ale bars in the stadium. Other than that, no.

been looking online as well, doesn't sound the easiest place to get to! Both the park and ride or the train seem to mean a long wait. Odd that these gounds get built with seemingly no plan on how to get people there!

been looking for pubs online as I normally do with new grounds, was going to try that pub in Falmer but it says now that its home fans only and they check your match ticket so that rules that one out! There is apparently a Harvester near to the Mill Road park&ride but it says this is the worst park &ride to get away from. I really don't fancy the train option but whatever we choose its going to be a late one home.....

Some of the questions have been answered by a fellow Albionite i see but i just want to pick up a couple of points. The ground is actually very easy to find as it sits just of a main dual carriage way. It's the traffic getting to the ground and parking which is a bugger. Avoid like the plague in a car is my advice.

I haven't been in the pub in Falmer which is called the Swan but the last i heard they do allow away fans in but don't bank on it being gospel.

To the guy going to Crawley - thumps up pal as that's where i live. Train fare would cost you slightly over a tenner for a ride of over 30 mins from Three Bridges. That's if you decide to change your mind and go by train. If not avoid Brighton parking but head to Preston Park station which is one stop away to Brighton by train. You will find free parking in around the station roads there.

By the way the concourse areas will have tv's showing Gillette Soccer Saturday and also train timetables.

Afraid not mate. The pre match entertainment is pretty good and local beers from your area will be available. Since i smoke i never get to the ground until about 15 mins before kick off as once you are in your fooked. If you don't smoke then use the ground for beer. I'm sure you will enjoy the experience.

Head to West street or the sea front if making it an all dayer. Make sure you head back to Brighton station at a reasonable time.

Hi, I would like a little advice too. There are 12 of us coming down on Friday and staying until Sunday. We are staying at the Journeys hostel in the centre of Brighton. What is the best way to get to and from the ground? I heard that the bus might be alright but I'm sure you can confirm this.

Can't wait, I'm really looking forward to going both to Brighton and to the AMEX.

I think they run a bus service from Palmeira Sq in Brighton to Falmer or ask any bus driver for more advice. Why not jump in a couple of taxis to Brighton station as it will only cost you a couple of quid ? Don't bother with a taxi straight to the ground as they rip you off as i found out.
All i can say is that you will have a cracking weekend staying in Brighton. Bars and clubs around the seafront are spot on. Try to avoid colours when going out in the evening as quite a few pubs won't let you in. Clubs might be slightly more difficult to get into. Split up and go in as the bouncers can be funny.

That's great cheers for the advice, I doubt we will be wearing colours but I see your point about maybe splitting up. Always the danger that some get in and some don't. I know this is a throwback question from the 90s but as you mentioned getting into places, but will be ok in trainers or do you have to wear shoes?

I see Journeys is in Richmond Place. You're in a good spot for the real ale pubs around the North Laine and up towards Brighton Station.

In which case, either drink in the pubs near the station (plenty to choose from) and get the train. Or if starting from the hostel - there are two bus services (the 25 and the 28) which start pretty much right outside the hostel, and take you to the stadium.

Afterwards, stick around, have some beers on the stadium concourses (actively encouraged, home end or away end) then get the train back. They never check your tickets on the return journey.

This is Brighton we're talking about.

Seriously, as my fellow Brightonist said, bars on the seafront, on the beach, in the City Centre. A few slag pits in West Street, Latin/soul clubs in the Lanes, hi-NRG in Kemp Town (ducky), indie nights, rock nights - shedloads going on.

Most places (West Street aside) aren't too fussy about this 'smart casual / no trainers' nonsense.

If it's a verbal slanging match you're after, at least call it a city, you gormless retard.

No red light district in Brighton - it's all done in the open. As for the real women (the ones without a blow-up valve), the aforementioned West Street is for the real swamp donkeys - syphilis a speciality. About 200 yards west is the Grand Hotel where the high class totty don't bother with knickers.

Believe me, there's no lack of foxy chicks in Brighton - it's a city of 30,000 students. You'll have a fab time if you avoid the airheads in West Street, and wander around the Lanes and North Laine areas.

The fella staying at the Grapevine has got a top spot. Don't know what the place itself is like, but it's on the seafront, next door to an excellent 24-hour fry up café and slap bang in the middle of where all the pretty ladies are (the ones who are higher up the scale from the West Street filth) and where the action is.

Afternoon all. Certainly not here for a gloat, but we'll take the three points however they come.

I think we are still a team in transit, and today we looked sluggish - the ten minutes after our second goal notwithstanding.

What took me was how different your guys played in the second half compared to the first half. A fair amount of long-ball stuff producing only mildly effective results, but you looked far more composed in the second, playing some decent keep-ball and having us run around a bit too much. Generally, I don't like us playing that deep, and I thought we invited unnecessary pressure. I just feel you're lacking a clinical finisher. Well, that was my view from yesterday's performance - can't really comment on your other performances, so maybe I'm being harsh.

Anyhoo, for those who did make it - a pretty impressive 1,800 or so - I hope you had a decent weekend (ruined possibly by 90 minutes of football). I hope you liked our stadium and our city, and I'm pretty confident from what I've seen that we'll be welcoming you back in this division to the Amex next season.
