Anyone asking themselves if it will ever really be possible for us to get back to the premier league , with no assets & no ground etc, take look at the history of Brighton! The similarities to our situation over recent years is uncanny.
And Coventry have a much bigger fan base & population!
If only, stop teasing.I think that of all the clubs that have been in trouble over the past 20 years or so Brighton, as you say, were in the position most similar to ours. Shocking owners, ground sold from under them, having to play home games 60 miles away. They have survived all of that plus nearly going out of the league and are now back in the top league with fantastic ground and training ground. Something to aim for once Sisu have gone.
I seem to remember to that in some of their darker days that they would have a certain nominated game in a season where fans of other clubs would attend a Brighton game wearing their own clubs shirt as a sign of unity and support. Maybe we might even get SUFC or SAFC fans coming to one of our games? Maybe not!If only, stop teasing.
But we don't have a much bigger fan base and population, very similar in fact!
Population of Brighton and Hove 273,000Population is half the size of Coventry?
Attendances, taking into account league position, momentum and era are lower, though possibly better in terms of population

I will be nearly 90 but would hope to be around for our return to the big time! Realistically it would be nice to just see a little upward momentum. Promotion next season would be a start. On the plus side, the promotion party'll coincide nicely with my retirement!
Think how good it'll feel, after all this heartache!I will be nearly 90 but would hope to be around for our return to the big time!
I'll be long gone and buried (or burnt) by then! Can someone have a cheer and a pint for me when it happens, seeing as I won't be around! ....... :emoji_coffin: or :emoji_amphora:Took them nearly 15 years to get their own permanent home again, 20 years to get into the top flight after the loss of the Goldstone, and over 30 years to get back in the top flight after relegation.
So yes, there is hope, but it's a kind of long-term hope!
We can scatter you on the sacred turf of our new Pool Meadow ground, built when they do away with a central bus hub.I'll be long gone and buried (or burnt) by then! Can someone have a cheer and a pint for me when it happens, seeing as I won't be around! ....... :emoji_coffin: or :emoji_amphora:
But we don't have that sea air to invigorate us like Brighton has.Anyone asking themselves if it will ever really be possible for us to get back to the premier league , with no assets & no ground etc, take look at the history of Brighton! Population of Coventry 316,000
People seem to think we are a big club with massive support and fan base, we are not, but this does not mean you can't be a decent well run club that has the potential to be a premier league club.

More likely that we will be under water by then. Maybe we will have a good synchronised swimming team?By the time we are back in the big time with global warming we might have the sea air:emoji_relaxed:

Trouble is our rollercoaster seems to only go one way mate. You can but look at the likes of Brighton & Bournemouth and think "If only......".
Its the fun thing about the league structure.....anyone can make it........ Fleetwood in the Prem anyone ? I mean....really ???
Anyway, you might not think so now, but riding the rollercoaster of ups & downs is much more fun than following boring teams like Arsenal et al !!
Thats a bit selective thats Coventry population from 2011 & Current Brighton population! Current Cov population 347650 also Cov is fastest growing City outside of London.Population

Yes but SISU are in the football business to make money and have failedThere is a subtle difference - The Brighton owner Tony Bloom has spent (invested) around £250 million. This included £93 million on the new ground and training facilities.
With our useless owners we would be lucky to see £250.00.
Hughton: I know Brighton’s history and what the fans are feeling
That's because its warmer there. Walk around Coventry and you'll see more City winter coats than you see of Brighton in BrightonBrighton are not poorly supported at all. Walk around the centre of Brighton and you see a lot more Brighton shirts being worn that you do Coventry shirts in Coventry.
Id rather be on a rollercoster that stops in Munich Madrid and Lisbon rather than Morecombe Grimsby and Barnet. You can but look at the likes of Brighton & Bournemouth and think "If only......".
