Budget Next Year (2 Viewers)

Anderson said on CWR pre Barnsley that the budget will be 'around the same next year' if we're still in League 1 and 'significantly higher' if we're in the Championship.

You would think the budget would increase maybe they are keeping it a secret or maybe are not expecting to sell as many season tickets as this year or have bumper crowds

You are presuming that the current budget is sustainable on current revenues. It might be that player sales are necessary even to sustain that

After the sale of Maddison I am sure he said it gave us security and revenue for several years.

I don't disagree, but I think the overall club budget, as distinct from the manager's playing budget, requires income from player sales.

I wouldn't bother, despite the fact that accounts are published showing continual losses, there is a still a belief that any player sales are going into SISU's back pocket.

If you get a windfall do you spend it all immediately? Or do you save some for a rainy day? Only my opinion but I think it would be dumb to splash out everything next year only to possibly be broke the following year.

The question that needs to be answered is when they say we are self sustaining are they talking about on a day to day basis or if we sell someone every year. There's a big difference.

He said on the radio all clubs are selling clubs. But we need to sell when it is right for us not because we have to. He said we have a good academy and good players coming through. But you cannot rely on selling players so that cannot be part of your basic budget. He seems to talk a lot of sense, but it is hard to trust anyone from SISU. As Chiefdave says there has been too many false dawns. I do feel there has been progress since returning to the Ricoh and we are were we are. We have to work within our budget and its constraints. We need a working relationship with Wasps because that is were we are at. We need a bit of smart recruitment and start to see the spine of the team develop. I think the team's above us have two or three players better than ours, it is that simple. Too much rotation in midfield although injuries in the back four has also disrupted things. We desperately need a couple of wins and some confidence back.
