Mother of jesus like i know he wants to prove himself but sometimes let reda or anyone else clear it, if that was any other day or team we would have drawn or lost that game, oggy needs to have a good word with him stop dipping his gloves in butter before the game!

Decent save near the end but today was by far his worse game. The only defence of him so far this season has been he's done the basics well and today he didn't even do that on 4 occasions.

True burton could see it tho and kept lobbing in crosses, other teams will see this and do the same its a weak link, i think reece should play next game or tm might play burge till we lose and it shis mess up then play reece.

Dropped a few today but made a great save but we need a decent keeper as on another day we would get hammered.

Im a supporter of our own players coming through, but i really believe we need a goalkeeper to complete our backline. You can tell the defenders dont know if burge is coming out or not! Think it might be a loan option someone to come in

I wouldn't drop him. He had a poor game and flapped at a few crosses but it didn't cost us in the end and dropping him would be a bad move in the long run.

If we had already been rotating keepers then yes. But we haven't and dropping him is a massive call and would show no confidence in him.

Don't wish to make exuses for Burge because he flapped alot today but the ground staff at Burton did water the ground before and at half time and the ball could have been slippy. I say could because I don't want to put a negative on a good win. All we need now is Wales and NI to win.

TM must see he is the weak link if we are serious about top 6

Being able to catch the ball is a fairly basic requirement for a keeper.

If it were a loan I'd be againest it because they will be young and why bring in another team's youngster when we are trying to develope our own?

Because they would be better?

There were a couple of times when he didn't even get his hands around the ball, it just went through his outstretched gloves

I know, wasn't even unfortunate. Just horrible technique.

I've been saying it since the season began, we need a new goal-keeper.

Burge got lucky today, on another day his dropped catches could have dropped to an opposition player to tap the ball into the net

Yawn.

Reda kept going forward in the hunt for the ball, caught a large number of times, Stokes didnt have his best game gave the ball up so many times. But no its all Burge's fault, yes he dropped the ball some of the times, but he caught more. Last week the anti-burge thread kept going on that he didnt come off his line, this week it looks like its gona be that he comes off his line too much.

Yes his not the best keeper in league 1, but TM seems to be OK with him at the moment, if/when his dropped lets just hope the replacement is of international quality or the knives will be out for him.

It certainly was not our best performance of the season, too many mistakes, ball retension was not up to normal standard, but 3 points won and we move on.

Lets just get behind the team, rather than slagging players off and leave team selection to TM, save the moaning for when we have a bad run, today just enjoy our league position.

What great save - not the long range effort surely - that was routine.

I agree. As bad as it sounds I wouldn't drop him till actually costs us a goal or a game.

We are 2nd in league with him which is showing why mowbray told us about prioiriting outfield positions.

Let's keep the run going for now

Burge is still a young keeper learning his trade, he will make mistakes and errors of judgement but as long as he continues to improve he'll become better and a stronger person.

He isn't Young and he isn't improving - he's just not very good.

It's weird because when he was in the team last year I thought (and remember TM saying so as well) that he was very good and coming for the ball and claiming it, and that he needed to work on other areas.

Continues to improve implies he has been improving which is false.

Bring back Conor Thomas so we can share the bad-mouthing.....I can't believe that we are 2nd in the league and people can't just get behind and encourage ALL the team. Seems like there must always be someone who is "crap", a "liability", "not good enough", etc.

Totally agree. Looked good, one for the cameras but a save he should easily be making.

One shot bounced out of his chest and his choice of when to come for crosses was poor
If you can't catch then punch
He could cost us valuable points in the long run, he got away with it today
I think he is ok as a number 2 but we need a new keeper

That was one of the worst displays of ball handling from a keeper I've seen in years.

Surely if someone hasn't performed well it should be mentioned. Or do we settle for mediocrity again and again? Some of the criticism is over the top admittedly but we shouldn't be glossing over poor performances. And Burge dropped a couple of bollocks today.

Sunday league stuff, and not even a good standard of sunday league.

Is RCC really that bad in training he can't get a chance ahead of Burge?

No problem with pointing out negatives, but this is a witch-hunt.
Haven't checked, but is there a thread saying how Tudgay should have scored when he was clean through at the end, which would have finished them off?

No he didn't, but ultimately, that miss could just have easily cost us the win.
I am just a little irritated that we always seem to have one player who gets the vitriol of the fans.
I don't actually think Burge is the best answer, but he needs encouragement and the support of the fans.

He has improved but keeps making dreadful mistakes and sometimes I feel he lacks confidence. Give him 3 more games and hopefully Oggy can improve him otherwise we have no choice but to send him to the knackers yard.
