He didn't come for a cross on Monday and Southend scored. The worst of both worlds.
wer'e 2nd in the league...give it a rest...fleck gave the ball away , reda tried to go past players and gave it away. O brien didn't have a great game...what if he hadn't come for those crosses and a burton player got on the end of it...the teams fine as it is...enjoy it
Made a great save near the end but dropped the ball 3 times today especially when under pressure. That is worrying. It's confidence with burge.

4th choice keeper at Preston now, weren't a massive fan of his but he's definitely solid and a upgrade on Burge. Would be pretty easy to get on a permanent in January as well you would think.I know it's a bit of a weird call but what happened to Jamie jones? We had him on loan last year for one month and looked very competent. Caught the ball and everything.
He can't be any worse than burge and a cheapish wage. We cannot continue with burge in goal if we can be serious about top 6.
I have previously stuck up for burge but today I have been proved wrong. Nice lad but needs to be turfed out and Reice-cook must be thinking what has he got to do.
I said before season started Mowbray would give Burgess his chance. I also said picking up good keepers on loan is easier than other positions. Once Premireship teams and Championship teams settle Mowbray will bring in a good keeper on loan.
By the way Burge hasn't cost us any points this season. That is not an apology to anyone.
The signs are all there though, Hobo.
He keeps on dropping the ball like he did today, we are going to be letting in goals as a result. It's an accident waiting to happen and just because it hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it's not going to happen, because it plainly looks like it's most certainly going to.
Two.... he should have saved Southends penalty.;-)How many points has he lost us? Zero??
I've defended Burge in the past but that was horrific today. I have no idea how none of their players scored. Burge should be dropped.I know, how many times are we going to keep hearing this shit? Woeful today, the other 10 thankfully made me proud to be a City fan.
I'd like to see a permanent GK come in
How many points has he lost us? Zero??
It doesn't defy logic.Frankly that's an absurd argument. He's a poor goalkeeper. May be ok with you for some odd reason but it defies logic.
Are you having a laugh ? He dropped every all ball which he should have collected easily. Get rid and bring in a proper keeper !I wouldn't drop him. He had a poor game and flapped at a few crosses but it didn't cost us in the end and dropping him would be a bad move in the long run.
If we had already been rotating keepers then yes. But we haven't and dropping him is a massive call and would show no confidence in him.
Its not so absurd.Frankly that's an absurd argument. He's a poor goalkeeper. May be ok with you for some odd reason but it defies logic.
What winning goal has burge been getting? Its not so absurd.
If we had striker that scored a winning goal every game thus far but also misses 3 or 4 other chances because of a cock-up. Would people shout for him to be dropped?
...onwards & upwards PUSB
What winning goal has burge been getting?
It doesn't defy logic.
He has not made mistakes this year that have cost us points.
He's who we've got, that's the logic!
Do you really think Mowbray would leave him in if he shared your concerns?
He hasn't, but he has stopped some shots that could've proven to be winners against us.What winning goal has burge been getting?
It does because we are not gaining points because of him but in spite of him.
Trying to compare to strikers who miss chances but also score the odd vital goal is equally illogical as Burge has certainly not won any points this season.
The fact is if the club want promotion the task will be very hard with an inadequate keeper.
All we hear is he is young, he's progressing, he will get better. Why? He doesn't even have the basic foundations and skill set to be a decent keeper.
It's clear the management are hoping the defence will function in spite of his inadequaces. It's a risk. It still doesn't alter the fact he is a sub-standard player and an obvious weak link in the team.
I seem to believe we started last season pretty well and yet that keeper was under fire from day one. He never gave such an inept display as we witnessed today.
Nothing wrong with his distribution this game. Absolutely agree about his catching and box control.
Are these things you learn with experience?
Where I absolutely agree with Grendel is that he will cost us goals and possibly points.
My personal priorities for league 1 would be solid captain/defender, keeper, striker, playmaker.
If I was Geoff foster my question would be are there any areas still to strengthen?
Mowbray must feel the 10 goals or 6-7 points are ok to lose
He has had 23 years to learn how to catch a ball. How much more time will he need? Maybe he only has small hands. The bigger your hands the easier it is to catch a football.
Therefore we need Jaws from the James Bond films. He had ginormous hands.
