Burton's game in hand (1 Viewer)

They're playing Millwall for their game in hand. What do you reckon? Hope Millwall win but Burton won 5-1 today

If they win then they go top. Always makes me nervous and feel like our top spot isn't "true".

Millwall beat a good Bury side today. We'll be fine.

But if you're like me Macca you'll be mighty disappointed and rather angry if we are not champions come the end of the season.

Exactly, quite frankly auto promotion is dream stuff. I keep my focus on points difference between us and 7th

Looks impressive but those 5 goals were against Colchester, who've lost I think their last 5 or 6 games. Cow me, we put 3 past them recently.

I think Millwall will give them a game, and Walsall could go level on points with us, I have a feeling that would be more likely to happen.

Interestingly, they go to Gills next and I believe we would have a "game in hand" over those two, albeit for a day. Wonder if a win would send us top, or even better consolidate our lead. Will be an interesting weekend.

Hopefully millwall can do thrm over. Don't want them getting confidence

I'd take a draw vs sheff utd if we follow it up with wins over Oldham and port Vale

I mean last time we had 3 draws in a row we followed it with 3 wins...

Cole will be back for Sheffield Utd, get this Swedish chap signed up and maybe Maddison on the bench could look a very strong squad in two weeks time.

Still far too early to worry about a side overtaking us by a couple of points

Yeah. It would be nice to stay at number 1 gor rest of season vut chances are slim

Still expect Burton and gills to drop off. Walsall winning was gutting though. Hope they lose sawyers in january

Walsall fan here.

I also think Peterborough are the big threat. I keep expecting Wigan to get into their stride but they continually stumble. If JFH leaves Burton, which everyone is saying he will, they will fall away. I actually think Millwall will end up as a far bigger threat, so whilst it wouldn't do us many favours in the short-term, I'd quite like Burton to get something from that game with them.

from what I've seen this season, the top six will be (in no particular order as they say on the telly); you, us, Peterborough, Wigan, Millwall and either Gillingham or Bradford. Obviously, if that did end up being the order, I would be the first to congratulate you on your Championship!

Despite us being poor on the day , i still regard your lot as the best team we have played from the first 20 games

Yeh millwall r racing up table!

It's gonna get alot more tense as season goes on. Let's just focus on winning our own games first

A game in hand at this stage of the season doesn't mean that much.

Peterborough will definitely be in the play offs I reckon, not sure if they will keep it tight enough in defence to get to automatics.

Peterborough first half took the piss and no exaggeration it could have been 5 or 6.

I think they took the wrong decision to sit back second half though as if they had kept on attacking us they would have won

I can see maybe JFH going to Newcastle if McLaren is sacked.

Bit of a poisoned chalice that one, so they may well have to look at manager's from league's below the Premier.

Definitely think someone will be in for him.

The strong rumour at the moment is that an approach from QPR is imminent.

A London job I think will suit him. QPR are another team who seemingly go through a number of managerial changes these days.

Big step up from league one to manage in the Prem - look at his ex Chelsea team mate jumping from Swindon to Sunderland. He'd be better off biding his time, choosing his jobs wisely, and working his way up.

Ah yeah, common sense. Not much of that in football sometimes. Could definitely see Newcastle going for such an option.

Many of us would have said McLaren wouldn't have worked.

I agree he should bide his time, but money talks and if he has the belief in himself I can see him succumbing to the temptation.

Mistake to go for Newcastle, Will be sacked as a failure in a year and long term he would regret it. Poison challis that one and worse whilst Ashley still there. Manager has no say over signings and club appears rotten to the core.

Just heard Dean Smith could be on his way to Brentford, bad news for you if true. Hope this doesn't derail you as Smith has done a wonderful job over the last 3 or 4 years.

They outplayed us in the first half yes. But TM made two subs at half time and changed the game. We outplayed them in the second half like they outplayed us in the first. And their manager admitted that his side lost to the better more experienced manager. So it wasn't them sitting back. It was us changing the way we played. Their plan A worked. Did they have a plan B?

I'm puzzled too. Can't think of a team mate who managed both Swindon and Sunderland.
