Well that’s not true is it?No i don't think so, i think it was a relatively low rent though say a grand a week or less
The Club had been set a 5pm deadline on Wednesday 7 August 2019 by the League who were seeking further information into how they planned to meet its commitments in respect of football creditor debts, payment to unsecured creditors as part of the Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA), alongside source and sufficiency of funding for season 2019/20.
Following extensive discussions and correspondence between the Club’s ownership and the League - the additional information provided lacks the clarity required and as a result of the League not being able to defer the decision any later than today, the Club’s Carabao Cup tie on Tuesday 13 August 2019 will not take place as scheduled in accordance with Carabao Cup rules.
The EFL will continue to concentrate its efforts on working constructively with the Club and Mr Dale to obtain the detail required to avoid any further suspensions.
However, the EFL Board is of the strong opinion that it cannot continue to suspend fixtures indefinitely and, after Wednesday’s deadline for information was passed without a successful resolution, it will now lift the suspension on the notice of withdrawal of membership of the EFL.
Bury were served the notice of withdrawal of membership on 25 July 2019 and it has remained suspended until today (8 August 2019).
As per the League’s Articles of Association, this will now give the Club 14 days (until 23 August 2019) to meet all outstanding requirements of the League’s insolvency policy or its membership of the EFL will be withdrawn.
Yeah the EFL is struggling but you have to appreciate the difficulty of their decisions. They can’t kick clubs out, postpone or forfeit fixtures lightly. They also can’t just financially cover for these clubs. How is their game on Tuesday already off but still no mention of our game against BW. EFL making it up as they go along.
They are properly done. Where will they end up too? Conference season has started so they probably won’t kick someone out of there. How many leagues down will they have to go. Unfortunately the charlatan in charge still owns the stadium so any Phoenix club would have to play down the local park.
Ditto!!I can't help thinking that the problems that are in football at the moment lay at the feet of companies like Sky TV. They dictate everything in the game, even down to when the referee blows his whistle to start the game, because a fuckin' telly advert is still running! I absolutely HATE Sky TV and love it when I can cheat them by watching their games for free. They pay umpteen millions to the big Premier League clubs but very little to the grass root, blood & guts clubs that really need a cash injection. Ever since they evolved into the world of TV Sport, there have been corporate problems. I detest that company so much!
Would genuinely like to know what he thinks he's getting out of this.Hopefully he does the right thing. Wouldn't bet on it though.
Another fixture now suspended by the EFL, hope they get new owners soon, and pay off their Football creditors.
Was this owner before or after they started over spending on players wages in 15-16 season?
That's madness
What's more mad is how PL pocket change could save them immediately
It's all our issue.I don’t see why people say the premier league teams could do this and that it isn’t their issue to deal with
That’s nonsense though - they cheated promotion. They can’t be rewarded for that
It's all our issue.
Would this bloke lose any money from selling with the offers on the table? Question to anyone not expecting you to know all the details.
This is shocking.
Yup if man city help bury then owners will be thinking why pay the staff when someone else can pay them for me? Same with the efl and pfa being relied upon too heavily. Why Bury overspent and then find an idiot to take the club on who doesn’t seem to have a pot to piss in, why should Man City it’s ok we will bail you out and if they do it will be the start of premier b teams.
We overspent, why should anyone help us?Why Bury overspent and then find an idiot to take the club on who doesn’t seem to have a pot to piss in, why should Man City it’s ok we will bail you out and if they do it will be the start of premier b teams.
I assume there's a value in the assets if liquidated that's of worth to him.Would this bloke lose any money from selling with the offers on the table? Question to anyone not expecting you to know all the details.
Trying to understand why he wouldn’t just sell
We overspent, why should anyone help us?
The reason the top flight has it's USP which allows for the large TV deals is because of the depth of following in this country, which is almost unique. Lose the depth, lose the uniqueness, risk losing the cash.
Seriously, if clubs and fans don't actvtogetger to try and ensure we all survive and thrive, then many of us die.

The top flight gets its big money from its popularity overseas and especially the Far East
It doesn’t need clubs like Bury
Nobody has argued for a PL bailout of these clubs, the point was to show how absurd the financial gulf is. Though it has highlighted something else-a league club is set to go bust and you couldn’t give a toss. Presumably though you’d kick up a fuss were we to be expelled for not playing in Cov whereas fans of other clubs could argue it’s ‘our’ fault.
Funny how the mental gymnastics work in your mind
I didn’t say I don’t give a toss
The commercial reality is what it is. Also other clubs have gone to the wall before and I couldn’t remember the football world wailing in collective grief then either and some were before the premier league even started
If it didn’t then it should have. We are happy to praise ridiculous overspenders when they succeed and turn a blind eye to their failure. That’s a large part of the problem
