Let's face it, it's not exactly like we're struggling for funds to buy good players this season. The more premier league goals and England caps he gets, the higher his sale value will rise. This might not be a bad thing
You don’t think any losses are being covered by sisu?Could work the other way. Serious injury in the first few games. Stops any progression.
Do t think we’re exactly flush at the moment either! And the longer this ground share goes on, the less funds we’ll have without player sales etc.

Has Wilson definitely signed? Would be disappointing but contracts don’t seem to mean anything nowadays anyway!Well, yeah! But how long will they keep that up? They’re relying on these sell-ons I’d imagine as well. Bit of a blow for us that Wilson’s not moving on.

Yeah, I’m guessing they won’t cover us indefinitely but I sense they’re up for a bit of a war of attrition with wasps and ccc.
PS
My senses fail me regularly.
Being my optimistic self i was thinking that the offer of a new contract meant that big clubs were firming up their interest in him, and this was a last gasp attempt by Bournemouth to keep him.Sorry, yeah. I’m being a bit presumptuous. If he signs it’ll be a bit of a blow to us.

I’d be very surprised if we’ve made a business plan based on a third party taking an action we have no influence over.

I think You’re probably right though.
On the other hand the new contract could be Bournemouth just looking to inflate his valueI think this is a big blow. If Wilson was ever going to make a big money move it was now.
At the kit launch, Robins spoke of how in previous seasons he was made to wait to see what money came in from transfers out before he knew what his budget was; but this season they have allowed him to go out and spend on the basis that money will come in from outgoing transfers and (can't remember the exact words) 'past sales'. If Wilson does sign for Bournemouth, I expect we'll look to offload a few and perhaps end our interest in other players. Hope I'm wrong.
I expect his agent will insist on a release clause....the question will be at what level that is set? £30M???

I read an article last season in the magazine When Saturday Comes about Troy Deeney. It was written by a Walsall fan who was saying that Saddlers fans had just reached the point where speculation and conversation about a potential move for Deeney was coming to an end due to his age rising and his sell on value dropping. Prior to every transfer window there was hope that this would be the one where Deeney finally moved on and Walsall would pocket their sell on money that would fund their next promotion push. Deeney has never moved. It looks like Wilson might sit tight too. That could well be the case. There just seems to have been lots of talk going back years of Wilson leaving Bournemouth, but it hasn't happened. You get the feeling he is very settled there - both on and off the pitch. It wouldn't surprise me if he stays at Bournemouth throughout the peak of his career. We shouldn't bank on ever seeing a sell-on fee from Wilson. If it happens great, but we have to accept it may not. I am sure the club see it that way too, but given everything that is happening, I suspect they had their fingers crossed.
True re. Dublin but if he hadn't signed the new mega contract, City would have got next to nothing for him as he would have been out-of-contract and the fee set by tribunal.Doesn't change anything, but would increase Wilson's value... and who's to say he won't go rogue if, after he signs a contract, a bid comes in from a club he wants to join.
Reminds me of when Dublin signed his big new contract in 98... he didn't see the first six months of it!
Maybe the same the AFC Bournemouth... how can they pay 100k pw on 10k gates???True re. Dublin but if he hadn't signed the new mega contract, City would have got next to nothing for him as he would have been out-of-contract and the fee set by tribunal.
Richardson had no intention of keeping Dublin on a mega contract and looked to sell asap.
V rich owners I believe.Maybe the same the AFC Bournemouth... how can they pay 100k pw on 10k gates???
