Would be a a decent signing if we can get him.

Isn't there something about, if they offer him a deal and he turns it down, they then
qualify for Compo from the club he goes too.

Yes, that's right. Buying club has to negotiate with club or it goes to tribunal if can't agree

Interesting, as he wasn't actually their academy product but joined their "development squad" in 2012. So level of compensation may be smaller, if there is any at all.
