He wants three strikers in his first-team squad which is why a number of Championship clubs are still waiting to see whether they can take Cameron Archer on loan this month.
Queens Park Rangers, Blackburn Rovers, Sheffield United, Coventry City and Stoke City all sent scouts to watch the 20-year-old score another stunning goal for Villa’s under-23s on Monday night but Gerrard wants him around after allowing Keinan Davis to join Nottingham Forest on loan until the end of the season.
Are Villa’s u23 any better than ours? Why not give Tavares on 23 goals at that level a go.

Archer has featured on the bench most weeks in the premier league. He exists in a completely different world to TavaresAre Villa’s u23 any better than ours? Why not give Tavares on 23 goals at that level a go.

Do you know how we can get category 1 status? It would really help some of our players develop and enable Robins to gague more accurately if a player is likely to make it into the first team.Yes they are Category 1 and play Chelsea and Man City etc, we are Category 2. He’s also scored for Villa’s first team

Don't pay too much attention to goalscoring records when young lads go out on loan to non league. It is all about getting them used to the physicality of mens football. Look at Callum Wilson's record at Kettering.4 in 26 last season for Solihull, not a great record, screams of Stefan Moore, Luke Moore, Nathan Delfouneso.
True, except most of my friends are Villa fans and they all over hype their youngsters. Especially forwards hence Luke & Stefan Moore and DelfounesoDon't pay too much attention to goalscoring records when young lads go out on loan to non league. Haha. Have experienced exactly the same over the years from my Villa mates. From the days of Darius Vassell, Darren Byfield and Richard Walker!True, except most of my friends are Villa fans and they all over hype their youngsters. Especially forwards hence Luke & Stefan Moore and Delfouneso
Thanks for the insight.More full time staff and education are main ones. We’re closer to Category 3 than 1. Blues, WBA, Villa, Wolves, Leicester are all Cat 1. We do well with what we have.
That last one was goodCertainly another string to our bow.
Let’s hope he can hit the bullseye.
He’ll make defences quiver.
That last one was good
Not as good as the last one but they were decentWhat are you saying about the first two?

Still remember one of my mates telling me Stefan Moore was equal in talent to Rooney back in the day. Fucker ended up at Leamington didn't he?True, except most of my friends are Villa fans and they all over hype their youngsters. Especially forwards hence Luke & Stefan Moore and Delfouneso
That joke nearly went over my head. It’s hard to tell

Like we did Pontacelli? If he is good enough then give him a go. We‘ll probably sell him then.Give tavares his shot ,leave the villan where he is.
