Can Anyone Remember A Worse Performance? (1 Viewer)

My first game was home to Bournemouth in 1964 seeing a 2-1 win.

Sine then I have seen a huge number of games! I honestly cannot remember a worse performance. When you consider the expectations and the quality of the opposition.

Playing effectively 5 at the back against a terrible side is beyond belief. The taking 61 minutes to realise things weren't right!

This has to get my vote for the worst game ever.

It's hard to think of a more damaging one.
All momentum trashed.
The truth laid bare for all to see against a poor Derby side at home.
Mid-table is now the best we can hope for.

Most frustrating game ever but far from the worse ever.
Derby were the worst championship team i've seen and I 100% agree with the 5 at the back issue and not changing it. You could see it was a problem after 10 mins but it took Robins an hour to actually change it.

Worst I ever saw was a 2-0 loss to Preston at home. I can't remember what season but we barely touched the ball

It was just the grinding inevitably that once we went a goal down last night, I couldn’t see us getting back into it. That was after 11 minutes! Something was definitely awry.

There’s home games like this every season but this season has already had as many as the last 2-3 seasons combined.

The table stays congested most of the season, a little run of wins and you easily go back into the mixer. It's not like the prem where after about 10 games the top 6 remains as is just in a different order. It's just putting that run together which I thought we mightve started. Probably Batter Sunderland now just to make things even more confusing

We all know how our club works, we’ll batter Sunderland now. We dont do consecutive wins especially if there’s a team we’re expected to beat

No, not by a long chalk. Been literally 100's of games that are worse than that over the years.

Everton away late 1977 and Southampton away 1984 both spring to mind. Last night was not just poor but an absolutely awful spectacle. Put me in mind of home games against Bradford in 2003 and Swansea in 1983. I think they appear worse as they were all (apart from Bradford) when they were in the top division.

A home defeat to Southampton when John Sillett was in charge ,think we lost 0+3 we were awful.

Everton the season we were relegated, three or four down at half time at West Ham, Sutton, Northampton cup games... so, so many others. Not the worse performance by miles for me, just a very disappointing one.

It's the worst game of the season and in my recent memory, I think we would have lost to a confident non league side last night.

Though I guess it wasn't really the performance though, the whole game was rank. Derby there to be beat, playing like a newly promoted team who have won 2 points from a potential 24 on the road. Their goalkeeper antics (and the fact his wank goal kicks kept somehow turning into defence splitting balls). The time wasting, the shit referee, our throw ins. All this made worse by the fact I was on my own, driving and sober.

Thankfully we were not playing a Leeds or Sheffield United.

The only thing missing was rain, that would have been the cherry on top.

Derby had one tactic when the keeper had the ball. Well 2 if you count time wasting. Hoof it long in the knowledge that they would win most, if not all, the second balls.

In my 50 + years supporting the club I've seen umpteen dismal performances, last night was the worst I've seen for s good while and was totally baffling after the recent upturn in the teams form/confidence.
It was like watching non league players....from both sides tbh.

It was a game to introduce Kai or someone like that from the start?

I’ve seen two dozen worse than that, probably more. We still had the chances to win that last night.
