I asked something similar in another thread a week or two ago.Going up since 3rd div South days can someone explain what tactic manual we have played from this last 2 games? There seems to be no pattern of play.
When defending a goal kick Bassette and Rudoni press their defenders while Asante and Wright are picking up lord know who, The middle of the park we are nonexistant.
In defence Bidwell or Milan make a run foward no one covers there move defensively I could go on .I welcome tacticians out there putting me wise
First half was a mess yesterday- second half, less so, but still not great. The Spurs game, we were beating them with a few minutes to go, so not sure we can have a go at the tactics for that.I don’t think even Robins knows the answer to these questions unfortunately.
Tactics for the Spurs game were easy as we were playing entirely reactive and just hitting them on the break.First half was a mess yesterday- second half, less so, but still not great. For me, we need the wide men to perform, be effective. That's why, with EMC not quite there yet, Wright below par, and Tats just returning, we have struggled. Not helped by our captain's absence. That said, we have played well in 2 of our last 3 games.
The games I was refering to were the league.Which league game did we play well in?You say Wright below par an understatmentI I covered a greater distant yesterday walking to the game than he did in it.That said, we have played well in 2 of our last 3 games.

Saw Eccles yesterday looking to the bench and getting no response putting his hands in the air(what do you want me to do) please tell me.
The whole setup no attacking nearpost for corners or free kick.Very few runs off the ball(in the case of Wright none) and everyone back for corners clear the ball comes straight back.
Sorry I apoligise again last 2 home ieague games.Too old to make the treck away.Watford we were excellent

We’ve been dire at home all season bar Oxford and then we were lucky to get a result.
no we weren’t.
Yesterday was piss poor alright, in fact beyond that- but we should have put 5 or 6 past Oxford and we were not lucky at all against them.
We scored the winner in the last minute thanks to their defender putting Haji through on goal. That’s lucky.
Both things can be true...nonsense. Go look at the stats and see if that’s luck.
The problems are there for all to see now, there’s no need to rewrite history, that just makes things even more messy than they are.

We were, by far, the better team & deserved to win.
However, it was 2-2 with 30 seconds to play & we scored from a gift.
Agree law of averages said we deserved a goal.Nobody has told me yet what formation or plan has been employed in the last 2 home league games because I haven't seen 1.Anything other than a win for us would have been a complete travesty. We got what we deserved, so did Oxford. Therefore it was not ‘lucky’.

Something I noticed at the end Dovine had the ball clock had stopped instead of hitting it long passes it sideways you dont score goal for there.
If players aren't following instructions pull them off, although the way Wright and Asanti set up for their goalkicks it got to be what there told.I don't think it's anything to worry about, because Robins said himself the players didn't execute the game plan. Who knows why, but they look very low on confidence at the moment, the Spurs match won't have helped, and sometimes you just need a win or 2 under your belt.
The concerning thing is why there's such a lack of goals. Teams are creating minimal chances against us and putting chances away. We're bombarding the opposition and struggle to score 1 a game.
I think what we’re seeing is Robins struggles to set up a team tactically to dominate a game and break down the opposition. We have basically no patterns of play, I’ve no idea how the team is supposed to be progressing the ball and trying to score a goal.
There's a sayingThe word behind the scenes are that Aled Williams is our new defensive coach !
We have Delaney from Villa , an ex full back , with a lot of experience & then a plethora of coaches , statisticians who have replaced our one man coaching team in Viv .
Williams isn’t regarded as good at his normal position within , but as we’re all looking in, now wondering what is happening, to a more desperate situation than any of us would ever imagine this season ?
It was so clear yesterday that they had a system to beat the press, they reached the half way line easily, whereas we struggled to get there. Surely that’s down to training and practice? The games I was refering to were the league.Which league game did we play well in?You say Wright below par an understatmentI I covered a greater distant yesterday walking to the game than he did in it.

Until their keeper got "injured".Watford we were excellent
Right they reach the halfway line easy because apart from the 4 players I've mentioned we drop back into our own half leaving the space for the opposition to rule setting up passing forward, they never afford us this luxury. It was so clear yesterday that they had a system to beat the press, they reached the half way line easily, whereas we struggled to get there. Surely that’s down to training and practice?
ps. I assume you park in car park A then?
The stats have us at an xG of 3 iirc, the chance that we scored to win would have been a high margin chance similar to a pen (8 in 10 chance of scoring).nonsense. Go look at the stats and see if that’s luck.

In short we were lucky to win.
I struggle to believe they didn’t execute the plan. I suspect there are that many coaches telling them this and that nobody knows what the plan is.I don't think it's anything to worry about, because Robins said himself the players didn't execute the game plan. Lbh everyone knew what Swansea would do, they do it every season and we still haven’t got a clue how to deal with it. Year on year they play possession football with a high press. Surely someone from the club has realised it.
As for what formation at the moment it is non existent. We are trying to get Rudini to play like O’Hare, he can’t he is far better 10-15 yards deeper picking up the ball and running just as he did straight after we went 2-0 down, then for some unknown reason we reverted to what had failed for the first 39 minutes.
Against Everton Spurs and Watford for the first half hour he ran the games running at people, play him 10 yards further up the pitch and we stifle his creativity.
Any other result apart from a win to us would have been a huge injustice. As confirmed by Oxford fans, the media, pretty much everyone.. except the usual ultra-negative ones on here who aren’t satisfied with having a genuine, real time crisis to talk about, they have to go back and pretend that a dominant performance a few weeks ago was luck.
So how do you explain then that nobody knew what to do.This part is a load of nonsense that people keep spouting on here with no proof.
Having 4 coaches is not a weird thing. In fact we have got by for so long without a sufficient backroom staff. Every club in the premier league has 3/4 first team coaches. If people want to say they are bedding in then fine, but the idea that too many cooks spoil the broth has no actual credence other than conjecture.
We have had slow starts most seasons and noone jumped to coaching being an issue then tbfSo how do you explain then that nobody knew what to do.
Almost everything since then has indicated that we're not all there, you could in fact say if it continues we are in a crisis. And we were lucky, despite being the better team against OxfordAny other result apart from a win to us would have been a huge injustice.
