Agree - it would help with attendances. They should make these the first game of the season
Don't mind that draw to be honest. Home game, winnable (if we want it). Much prefer it to a game like Norwich away (which Blues got). No travel for team, or fans, so less disruptive. Sooner play a team that will bring a few fans than against a lower league side where there is no atmosphere. I know no-one likes the competition, but we should still get an 8k attendance (first entry in guess the crowd), which will bring in a few quid.
No-one really cares about the League Cup nowadays, it's nothing more than Just an extra game or two onto the calendar. Although I suppose it helps early season fitness. But I couldn't even tell you who won it last season. It's just such a bland competition.
Liverpool won it, we were knock out by Northampton last season
You'd hope he wouldn't be playing as we always put out a second string XI.You’d hope Palmer would be up for it at least.
I’ll take thatTeam prediction:
Wilson
G Burroughs Rose McGrath
J Burroughs Eccles Rus Howley Reid
Walker Tavares
Although that right side might spend half the game arguingI’ll take that
They should make these the first game of the season
This is a good idea.
Doubt I'm going to go up to this one, but definitely would if this was the first home game of the season
A few years ago?!Enjoyed the run we had a few years ago. Think we went out to West Ham at home quite far into it (for us).
That’s the sort of grudge holding that I can respect!Tbf, I hate the league cup, almost solely because of Steve Hodge pushing the wall out of the way when Forest scored a free-kick in the semis however many years ago.
Sunderland-esque grudge holding in fact! That’s the sort of grudge holding that I can respect!
Do you mean 81/82 in the semi? That’s quite far into it.A few years ago?!
It was 15 years ago now.
Think it was the game we lost with a Turner own goal in the 90th minute.Do you mean 81/82 in the semi? That’s quite far into it.
Bradford werent itDidn't a non prem team win it a few seasons back and get into Europe or did I make that up?

Just checked and it was 5-0, imagine the meltdown 🫣Bradford got to the final and got thumped by Premier League Swansea I think.
I think they were who I was thinking of but as a poster below said the lost in the final. While very unlikely this is maybe the cup we have most chance of winning as the top clubs rotate. Getting into Europe which would just be off the charts amazing.Bradford werent it
It would be great to get into Europe and bring shedloads of money but I think it would impact our season too muchI think they were who I was thinking of but as a poster below said the lost in the final.
