Never like to see anyone lose there jobs, but this is the business stage of the season and something had to change its a results business after all and results haven't been good enough simple as that. Presley is hard working, passionate and a nice guy but obv hasn't brought the right players in or got the best out of the current players he'll be the first to admit this! And is ultimately as a manager judged on this. Hopefully someone will come in get the lads playing in the right way and get the players confidence up..survival is the key for me now then get through to the summer and re-evaluate it all.

Then he adds this:

I'm not a fan of loan players I understand they can help and u can utilise them but for me and this includes contracted players. They need to play for the badge not themselves. It's all about the team. Team is successful then individuals are successful.

Also this:

The board sell players but so do every club! It's a business. Players released myself included is down to the manager not the board

Nice one Stephen for that ffs...

Also he says this:

Not in football. The manager tells the board what players he wants and doesn't want. The board then act on this and try to get it done. Sometimes successfully sometimes not. It's diff if someone wants to buy a player the board will then have the final say as it could financially benefit the club but this is the same at most clubs. No manager wants to sell their best players but it happens. Any manager worth there salt wouldn't allow any player to come in or go out without them agreeing to it unless like I've said the money is to good for the club to turn down.

And finally:

Not just my word Presley has come out publicly himself saying it was his decision

Great to see he still cares, regardless of how he played for us, Stephen made the wrong decision letting him go.

So basically the team this season is down to Stephen Pressley and not Waggot.

No but he's all but confirmed from a former players position that the signings are all his, and they just haven't worked. He even says "Hopefully someone will come in get the lads playing in the right way and get the players confidence up"

We can now put to rest Waggot signing the players whilst Stephens hands were tied can't we?

Ex-player in not blaming the board shock. It was Pressley what done it, etc.

I think most agree. His hands were tied in regards to finance (e.g. paying an actual fee) but he seemed to have his own way in getting in players. I think some of them are good. Jones, Samuel, etc. Some of them not so good.

Either many of them poor or wrongly used/not used/couldn't be arsed.

Its common sense that Baker would not say anything of what has REALLY gone on with the recruitment considering his former employers are still paying a percentage of his contract and would be up for breaking the conditions set out etc etc .............................

What's your source then?

It's the epitomy of how far we've fallen when people are still bitter, despite all the other shit going on, that we released a player as limited as Carl Baker . Nothing there to suggest he 'cares' any more than any other footballer asked about a manager's sacking. Even if he does care, why it's 'great to see' is mystifying. He's been asked a couple of obvious questions on the day that Pressley's been sacked and trotted out some classic football cliches in return. The only thing that needs putting to rest is people's tongues in Baker's arse. Move on, and if you can't do that, take it to his facebook page with all the other fanboys...Whether it was Waggott's or Pressley's transfer decisions, well does it really matter? It's like the guy on a plane wanting to take the window seat asking if you want him to squeeze passed arse or balls forward - there's no right choice

You have to laugh, someone who has been far closer to what is going on at the club than any of us comes out and says how it works but everyone on here knows better!

Amazes me some the intelligent posters we have on here all jumping at Bakers comments licking his arse, and taking his words as factual statements, hes just replying in the best way possible without causing any conflict with those who still pay his salary yes that is right, we still pay a minority of the contract cancelled for him to play for MK Dons.

So why would he come out and explain exactly what has happened, his answers do not represent the facts at our club but those at other clubs which are ran with football people at the helm.

So your basing the fact Pressley didn't have much say on transfers on common sense?

No I am basing the fact on Bakers comments being what a fan would want to hear, not a former employee of SISU who is still paid a nominal salary as part of his contract when at CCFC would say otherwise he would be in breach of contract and up for litigation.

I see a little bitterness in the comments made here

But the lad has done well in his new club, and I have always felt we lost a vital cog in our system when (it seems SP) let him go

Why would Carl Baker say anything?

So why do you think preasley has very little input into signings?

But what baker is saying isn't what fans want to hear is it?

You have no evidence to support any of these claims do you?

It could, of course, be the case that Pressley did indeed prefer O'Brien to Baker, so it was Pressley's decision to get rid...

He seemed to favour Petrasso above him towards the end of last season....

He did, and there were enough comments that suggested all was not well.

tbh, all things being equal... I'd have probably swapped O'Brien for Baker too, as despite scoring goals in the first half of last season, always thought Baker looked the one who didn't quite fit into what we were trying to do. Then second half, he was diabolically bad.

(Obviously I didn't bank on us going uber-defensive and repressing all flair when I thought that...)

I think sometimes we have to accept that, just as Pressley losing many games didn't mean SISU were all innocent in this, neither does SISU being arses mean all Pressley's bad decisions were theirs.

For sure, maybe the unremitting shit ground him down and impaired his judgement, but there were a lot of odd decisions that you couldn't really judge as being anybody's choice but the manager. Blame the conditions he was working under by all means, but those decisions were his.

Baker going has always looked like a football decision, for better or worse.

You have no source other than your own belief, so forgive people not believing it. He would of been payed off from his contract before they terminated, that's how it works. We didn't even know he was going to MK so why would we pay a wage towards it?.

Been well documented before we are still paying him off.

Also I am sure you are knowledgeable enough to remember that no former employee is going to state the real facts on social media for all to see are they now...

The deal was done so that we paid a remainder of the contract over a period of 12 months, I have inside information, pretty much like when I came on here saying the council would fuck us over and was met with the same responses as today... nevermind hey.
