Looked at Mowbray's CCFC stats by comparing two distinct spells:
31 games up to the thumping 4-1 Gills home win
37 games since that victory
I was expecting a stark comparison but nothing like this.
Between taking over and up to and including the 4-1 Gills game, our records was
P 31 W16 L8 D9
This adds up to 57 points. Over a 46 game season, this would see us get 84 points and most likely automatic promotion. Walsall game 3rd last season with 84.
Since that Gills game and excluding tonight, the record is:
P37 W8 D13 L16
This adds up to 37 points from 37 games - doesn't take a maths whizz to tell us this is 46 points over a 46 game season. Donny and Blackpool got relegated last season with 46.
From promotion form to relegation form - talk about a managerial spell of two unequal halves.
