I think a bid from Derby might be to much of a pull on Tom Bayliss, as I said yesterday we seen how Ben Stevenson mind wasn’t in it anymore and was a shadow of the player we seen.
I think 2.5 Million and add ons is a fair leverage to both us and Derby.
Don’t get me wrong I’d love him to stay but what Derby can offer with the exciting appointment of lampard for them and he won’t be far off being in there match day squad in a few months adjustment

Prefer Danny Rose from Spurs. I really think he could make the step up to League One.That John Harriot on twitter who spreads shit claiming we’re in for Boateng of Exeter and Danny Rose from Mansfield
Any target?Just send Doyle round to any targets house & they’ll be signed by the next morning!
Otzumer at Walsall is out of contract Probably not needed at present but lose a couple of attacking midfielders he could be a shout.
Yep. Nearly as bad as JCH!Is Mansfields Danny Rose the diving twat one?
I said the same thing but he's interesting several championship clubs apparentlyOtzumer at Walsall is out of contract Probably not needed at present but lose a couple of attacking midfielders he could be a shout.
I'm pretty sure Robins was slagging Rose off before one of our games against Mansfield. He's definitely just plucked that name out of thin air. That John Harriot on twitter who spreads shit claiming we’re in for Boateng of Exeter and Danny Rose from Mansfield
I think with the CB attributes we could play 3 at the back and shippers could be a wide left of a 5 man midfield as he does work back well too. MR was right not to change it at an important stage this season but I'd love us to set up like to see us try to set up like that pre-season and try it.
There is a reason why very few teams play it!Please god no! The last two times we've started a season trying to play three at the back we were:
1. Saved on the last day of the season away at Crawley
2. Relegated from L1

Hopefully young Jack Boroughs might start knocking on the door come the end of the season too. Great with both feet as well. Why would you waste Shipley at wingback? He’s got excellent vision and needs to be further forward, decent goal scoring record as well. Really think he’ll surprise a few next season.
I’m almost not bothered if Bayliss goes (for a fair fee and obviously Is rather see him develop), just because we’ve got a lot of talent in attacking midfield at the moment and won’t be able to fit them all in.

Both him and his brother are showing immense potential, however cost is indeed the issue.Mohamed Eise would be one I would love to see here would cost so we won't get him.

Does anyone see MR going for a first team goalie, or is Burge virtually set as No.1?

Why would you not consider all options; even if it is not the first choice option. I don't understand why fans are stuck in this rut of 4-4-2. This year we have gained some small successes and not really used 4-4-2. The roles given to Doyle and Kelly means it isn't really an option unless you want to be camped in your own half. It has been more 4-2-3-1
Shipley doesn’t have the attributes to play wingback. If we were to play 3-4-3 or 5-3-2 we’d need a left footed version of Grimmer.
The way Shipley plays on the left in our system is narrow, and our fullbacks overlap our ‘wingers’. As a wingback, Shipley couldn’t rely on an overlapping player, isn’t the best at defending, isn’t particularly pacy, and doesn’t have the stamina to play that role. In short, at wingback, you negate everything good about Shipley’s game.

You are probably spot on about Shipley's strengths and weaknesses, I think I was banging the drum about formation and tactics rather than individuals.
I just realised you weren’t advocating Shipley at left wingback.
5-3-2 was a viable option before we clicked with our narrow and fluid 4-4-2. I said on some threads that it might be the only way to fit Kelly, Bayliss and Doyle in the same team. However, this window I expect us to sign 1-2 wide players to solidify our options for a 4-4-2/4-2-3-1 — I don’t think 5-3-2 or 3-4-3 appeals to Robins much and agree with that.
Yes 3 at the back is suicidle at this level, the lad he signed yesterday fits his 442/4231 system perfectly if he clicks early on them him and JJ alternating flanks is quite frightening really.
If you’ve got the players for it, then it’s a good system. We have the players that are better for other systems.
I’m keen to see how his window unfolds. Considering we were in for Woodyard, we’re most likely in for a centre midfielder, which suggests one of two things: Bayliss is going to stay out wide, or he’s going to play behind the striker in a 4-2-3-1.
I personally thought Allassani would be an impact sub like player — but if we’ve spent decent money on him, where’s he start? Out wide as a George Thomas, goalscoring winger? Or up front with McNulty? The former seems more likely.
I can’t see McNulty scoring 25+ goals again so we absolutely need to bring in goals from elsewhere.
Agree I don’t see McNulty hitting the heights of this season again, I also don’t think a 4231 uses him to his best over a full season. I’d stick with a 442 adaptation be it the current style or a more traditional one.
Allassani I see in time fitting in as one of the wide players in a 4231 like JJ was or up top in a 442 of a bigger man in place of McNulty in the longer term, but this all depends how his summer goes.
The links to other central midfielders is a tad bizarre at this stage but you cannot stand still as a club and we need to find another Doyle and possibly Bayliss.
