Watching the FLS the other night and before the 125th birthday of Sheff UTD, Manish said "sheffield united's long suffering fans" (the exact quote, I don't know)

I have two points: Firstly, since when was Sheff Utd a club that made it's fans suffer? They may have been poor at the start of this season, and have only just gone up the table and look a good side. But that's surely purely being a poor footballing side, and doesn't warrant sympathy?

Secondly (the CCFC related bit): Would we be considered the most suffering fans in the footballing world ATM? I think I'd rather be in Pompey's position (i.e have a ground, a good regular attendance and a club ready to build again)

Would be interesting to hear your thoughts, and wallow in our self pity ;) :)

It surprises me that more people away from CCFC fans aren;t aware of the no top 6 finish in 40+ years thing.

On a side note, which club is the next longest in the English leagues without a top 6 finish, after us?? Fulham?

Not wallowing, was at that game at the weekend, special away day to witness Leon Clarke start and have little or no understanding with any of the players Wolves players (nice Spring day & he played wearing gloves).

Caught off-side several times but did eventually get the ball in-the-net, only to be ruled-out for, off-side!

Little fish in a big pond who looked totally out of his depth.

Yes really is terrible being 7th 8th 9th or 10th in the top flight much more of an achievement being 6th in the fourth:facepalm:

No one is more long suffering than the doom and gloom merchants on here. Are you really "Broken Hearted" or is that just more of the self pitying bathos that increasingly has turned this site into a bit of a joke.

MMMmmmmm - you are happy to criticise Leon Clarke (fair enough), but when we are critical on here about any of the CCFC owner related angst, you see fit to tell us all that there is nothing to worry about, all is going to plan, everything's hunky dory etc. Just out of curiosity - for someone who has just been able to make a (just about) detached observation about Leon, please could you make a (semi?) detached observation about what our owners are up to?

So the super supporter would rather go to some other teams away game rather than his own teams away game priceless PUW:claping hands:

It isn't the site that's a joke.............however, there is a touch of Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot about the whole CCFC saga at the moment. IMHO the majority of us on here are merely somewhere between saddened and maddened. You, coming on here to mock those who feel this way are what?

Sounds like sour grapes because he left the sinking HMS Coventry City.

Nope. They got promoted to Prem the year we went down.

Am I imaging it or does Tim Fisher have ties to Sheffield?

He told me that he had quite a bit of involvement at Sheff Weds before he got involved at Coventry. Not surprised, that club has been in the doldrums almost as much as we have. In between, he said he also had a spell helping Charlton Athletic become the force they are today. God help us.

I think his background is Sheffield. I may recall him saying his family support Sheffield Wednesday.
I wonder if he supports Sheffield Utd?

RFC do you know?
