English teams struggling this week.

Well I say teams, they are more like a bunch of individuals than a team. The European teams play using their Brains more it appears to me

Dogshit tournament of virtually zero interest to me I'm afraid....

I can honestly say I haven't watched a full CL game since the Arsenal v Barca final in 2006......

It's all very cagey and overly tactical. I sometimes catch a bit of some games, but the emphasis seems so much more on the physical than the skillful in many ways I find.

I just don't like the way football is going, fullstop, I'm afraid.

I like the CL, it gives you the opportunity to see the best players in the world. Barca really impressed me as i thought they were on the way down but they looked tight, compact and very energetic. City couldnt get near them and were lucky to get a 2-1 defeat.

Arsenal were appalling last night however.

Spanish teams in particular seem to adapt better than we do but there league is a little more akin to the CL style of football. The Prem league is a very different pace and english teams have to adapt their style but fail to do so. Only Chelsea seem to pull this off to a certain extent.

Maybe they shouldn't try to adapt so much but actually play in their PL style and try and impose it on the opponent. Perhaps the problem is the players lack the capability to do either to a high level.

I used to really enjoy it but have lost interest now and only watch bits of games, but find most football like that, the mess that we are in has made me lose my love for the game.

I love the champions league it is to me what international football was and should be the highest quality level of the game. (Not that I ever get excited about England matches , all about cov for me).

Watching the champions league is a bit like watching the big four in tennis when they play each other, and they have to work through a point setting up a winner in a couple of shots time. The European teams seem to do things with a purpose as a team.

Would I want to watch it every week like the premier lge , probably not, but at this knock out stage absolutely.

How many English players these days play using their brain as main tool, only really carrick in recent years, and no one really rates him other than me

I remember a game against West Ham when Ferdinand was playing and we were all over them he went off and Carrick came on totally changed the game.

Totally agree. Always really rated Carrick. Never understood others not seeing his ability(fans and England managers).

He's the king of one touch stuff. He proves you don't have to be quick to add pace to a team you just have to move the ball quickly.
