Chances of Making The Playoffs (1 Viewer)

Home wins against Cambridge, Lincoln, Barnet, Grimsby, Yeovil, Stevenage, Morecambe, and 2 away wins from the likes of Forest Green, Crewe, Crawley, Cheltenham with a couple of other draws thrown in should see enough points to finish in the playoffs. (29 - 30 points)
OK February looks a tough month and we don't always get good results against the teams we should beat on paper, but the run in we have gives us every chance of at least making the playoffs. Throw in a couple of good results against one or two of the top teams and autos is still a strong possibility.

we must have a better than 50/50 chance of making the playoffs, but automatic is still a long shot for me.

Every game is huge now. Especially cambridge and forest green. After that i think we play 5 or 6 promtoion rivals on bounce. Imperatove we come out eith vixtories in half. After that its a fsvoirablw run in on paper and if we finish strong we can grab automatic promotion

Cliche but every match is a cup final now

Well I think a top three position is well within our grasp especially if MR is allowed to bring in the much needed striker. What happens between now and the end of January will be interesting and show our owners ambitions.

Forever the optimist, but i think autos are a realistic proposition and playoffs would be a dissapointing end to the season especially given the relatively easy run in we have (on paper anyway), I was thinking the three games Exeter, Swindon and Wycombe would be the games that decided\defined the outcome of our season, we were unlucky not to get at least a point against Exeter, today we were good value for the win, defence won it for us, and Wycombe well thats put on hold for now.

Chances of making the playoffs, thats too pessimistic, we are much better than that added to that every team in this league is liable to slip up against any other the way we do\have against the so called weaker sides.
Autos, autos and nothing but the autos.

We need to put an unbeaten run of 5or 6 games together to give us some daylight.
We definitely don't want 8 or 9 clubs still in contention going into April.

After supporting City for 50 years and knowing after all this time what seems like a good probability always seems to disappear, there have been a few exceptions durinģ this time 87, last year's Wembley run, but on the whole we have managed to throw it away.

I would love this team to continue on make playoffs or auto, just once in my lifetime I would love to get promoted.

I think we still need to bring some consistency into our game and also our owners don't sell anybody, new striker would be great but I'm more worried about losing players.

AND THAT F***IN PITCH IS A DISCRACE, all this Bolox from Wasps about laying and maintaining a exceptional quality pitch was BS. The lights should have been running from November as soon as the growing season slowed but no lights just bear patches and a surface that looks dry as a nuns cuff. This will effect us, just look at they way we sent pretty much every ball from the back long yesterday, yes we won but long ball does not suit us.

Changes of making playoff - 35% going up through play offs- 10% we cant string more than 1 win together at the moment.
Auto - 15%

This is based on 50 years experience, I would love it to happen though. Please God just once

A long shot? We are just two points off the automatic places. It's just one win.

I think he speaks sense based on season so far. It's not about 1 win it's about bringing in the consistency required. I haven't seen us sustain top 3 position yet. Would be happy to get into play offs and think we would win

but there are 6 or 7 teams in the same boat. Think it's fair to say Luton will win it. Notts have sustained a top 3 berth but seem to be faltering slightly at the minute so it will then come down to the two teams who can find that little bit of consistency.
I think the recruitment, or lack of it, by those involved in the shake up will play a massive part.
Kelly coming back will be like a new signing for us.

Vincenti back too and Carl Baker supposedly to sign at the end of Jan.

Baker that will at least give them 3 players to hate........

I'm amazed we are anywhere near the playoffs to be quite honest.

We should be about 4th from bottom with the really crap Burge and the dreadful Haynes and the awful Biamou and the useless Vincenti and the crap Doyle.

I think Mark Robins must be the biggest genius in the history of professional football.

Exactly.
People forget we are a 4th tier team.
We have a lot of players that are probebly not worth a lot.
I believe that most play at the best of there ability most of the time, if they have a bad day then they deserve to be barated but some posters just won't let go bring it up week after week.
Yes the players you have mensioned have all had bad games some more then others, but never get credit when they play well.

Notts County imo have been very very fortunate, no team scores as many late goals as them, I think they are going through a dodgy spell now.

2nd to 7th is up for grabs with everyone down to Swindon in 9th or 10th in with a good chance.

This is business end of the season the top 10 have been josteling for position.

It's now time for any one of those teams to go on a season defining 4/5/6 winning game run will seal play off or Automatic position.

I think we are just in good striking distance.

With our budget and comparing us to teams in our division we should be autos.

I think Luton have got away enough to probably win it though they have gone through a dodgy period.
Notts County are wobbling, Accrington seem to go on better winning runs than most but then worse losing runs too ditto Exeter.

If we do not make play offs it is criminal that should be minimum I am expecting autos if we get a few bodies in the next few weeks absolutely no excuse for Robins or the team not to get 2nd or 3rd!

I still think we can win it. Some may think that's a bit tooo optimistic. But why not?

I don't think they are as special as some people seem to make out. They're defence is far from special.

They aren't playing that well at the moment...

Who knows how they will play if Berry / Hylton get injured ?

The pressure may just get to them, it's a funny old game, plenty of twists and turns.

They lost 4 nil to port vale the other week, lost to chesterfield too, and really struggled to Beat Morecambe at home looking at the stats.

I think we will beat them at home.

We get going on a good run. We can win it.

Until we get this monkey off our backs and win 3 or 4 games on the trot we will be lucky to make the playoffs. Yesterday's other results were in our favour but if this team has to play a game knowing that a win is vital they will lose it. There are teams in this league we should be launching everything we have got into them and grind them into the ground but MR is still over cautious when we play them and they sneak a goal and still win it. Early goals changes the play of other teams

I think autos are realistic. We are only one win away. If the current squad stay fit and we have 1 (possibly two additions ) then they are more than capable of top 3. We have shown good results and form against the better sides but have often struggled against others. I don’t think we have been steamrollered by anyone but equally have not felt we have dominated other teams. Any team in the top half going on an unbeaten 6 game run (5 wins and a draw)will look good for promotion: robins just has to ensure that’s us!
I think Barrett will prove to be a very good signing and Maguire-Drew a less inspired one.

Worth noting your point on Luton...
Doncaster were 13 points clear of 4th place Portsmouth after 28 games at this point last year.

Luton are good have fire power but they have players who are attracting interest from higher leagues. This Window is still young anything can happen. Like us they are a injury or key sale away from potential disaster

18 games to go..

10 games against the teams in the bottom half of the league, yet to play Luton, Lincoln and Accrington at the Ricoh, which we must pick up at least 6 points from, if not 9!

I’m confident we can make top three, but we need to make sure we bring in another striker who can score goals to help with that

Win 2 lose 1, win 2 lose 1, that will be enough to get us Automatics. So it nescessarily about winning 5/6 on the bounce it certainly helps.

We are where we are in league now as we had a very poor October and November.

At the moment we are not drawing games, which is a positive.

Last 7 league games:

W 5 , L 2, GF 10, GA 5, PTs = 15

Carry on this form and we get Automatics Comfortably.

Much better than the 13 from 33 we took October/November early December.

One thibgs for sure that whilst the 6 pointrr mstches sre huge its impersrive we best teams in bottom half as our last 8 sre all favourable fixtures on paper. We nees to win majority and watxh rivals take points off each other

Yes, our home form will be the key. Last 4 home games we took 12 points, last 8 home games we took a total of 14 points.
Cambridge, Lincoln, Barnet, Grimsby, Yeovil, Stevenage, Morecambe are all to come at home and we should be looking to win at least 5 of these and not lose any. The odd loss, even against fellow promotion hopefuls is not going to hurt us too much as long as we can keep our home form going against the teams we should beat.

I think it could depend on the cup run, this will lead to 2 games a week and could tire a 14 person team, we don't have a strong squad and one/two injuries could hurt us.
That said, I want to win at MK and continue the run as I think winning has a contagious effect on the players and gives them confidence.

This league is poor and it doesn't take much to make that top 6/7. Yesterday they had chances to level, didn't happen and we win, we just need a bit more of that.

I think we are more of a formulaic side rather than a flowing one, Swindon had more natural wing play with a good centre forward, I thought their 3 changes weekend them.

That said, I think 3rd or 4th. Guarantee a win at Wembley and I take 4th all day but having had 48 years of no top 6 position and knowing our propensity to shoot ourselves in the foot, let's take 3rd please (or 2nd)

Whilst the title is not out of reach, We desperately need to improve our away form, just 1 win, 3 points (from 12) and scored just 1 goal in our last 4 away from home.

Contrast that with the Ricoh and its 4 wins in the last 4 (12 from 12 points) scoring 9 goals.
