just looking on the forum at some of the posts, it seems as though some people have now changed their mind or been sucked in by OIs letter. And are now no longer anti sisu, just wondering whats changed minds after we signed our 1st outfield player since last september. apologies if this annoys people, its not meant to

Don't think many have changed there mind to be honest because of the letter or the signing of cody.
Think it has to do with realization after the takeover fell apart that many realized that there is not much choice at the moment other than if sisu pull the plug (which would be devastating to the club as a whole), nothing to do with sisu but more to do with the potential of if no one came in to buy the club.

Yeah, I also don't think it's maybe changed peoples minds. It's just appreciated that they are at least 'trying' to dig the club out the shit.

Not sucked in. Just open minded. His letter and various statements are the usual football management cliche. Have the club at heart, building for the future, need fans on board, not asset stripping blah blah blah. Just sound bites that appease the press. But if you look at what they have done so far they have invested. And if you look at the bigger picture they have taken a poorly run business and reduced it to its bare bones. They have also reduced a piss poor football team to its bare bones....ie got rid of the free loading, not essential squad players. Granted they lost Westwood, King and Aron but those three have all gone on too contracts which ccfc can't afford. And its provided opportunities for new blood. The academy seems to be thriving on every level and is now undeniably well linked with the first team. We have an untried manager who we all know has and eye for players. And at least he plays players in the right position. Now they are in a position to rebuild. Actions speak louder then rhetoric. Am waiting to see what happens. And am not talking four games into the season. Am really looking forBIward to seeing this Mcdonald character. And I like everything I see and hear about Bigi. Such a contrast to the usual football player mentality.

Don't believe everything you hear.
The investers he had (supposedly won't go into that) may not wait around and move on to differant things and he may not be able to get any investors, then whats he going to do.
At the moment sisu are the only option and with the olympics coming here don't expect them to pull out too quickly if they ever do?
The thing is, is that although they may not own the ricoh the prestige for them being the owners of the football team that play there will hold some nostalgia for them.

You can either be realistic or shout for what you want, not thinking of the consequences.

SISU out, what then? We have nobody with money to invest ready to take over from SISU. Where would that get us? Admin would be favourite. I am not going to shout for admin.

I am waiting to see who they bring in on loan. We could end up with a small but able squad. I would never do anything like protest at a game. Our players need all our help at the minute, not having to listen to bad chants from their own fans. Does not mean I love SISU though.

I agree. When there is a credible alternative to SISU and that credible alternative does things by the book then maybe SISU will listen.

Who's to say that the new lot will be any different though.

We had a lot of nice words from Hoffman, but in the end, it all came to nothing.

My mind hasn't changed. They are still shitfy w*nkers who don't have the interests of the club at heart. The only way ANY owner will be acceptable to me is if they continue to run the club in a sensible way, and that does not include selling every decent player for market and below market value. That is detrimental to the club, as we will certainly be relegated. If SISU think they have to do this because they are losing money then they have to see the bigger picture - fund or get funding for part of the stadium, or sell up.

As I have said before there is exactly ZERO point of protesting!!!

I'm not a SISU fanboy before anyone says but seriously if SISU put a statement out saying the world is round some people on here would argue that it was flat!

I understand the whole anger at the Watford game, nobody (including me) are doing cartwheels over the fact that SISU are in charge.

But fast forward three weeks, Gary Hoffman and his mythical investors have disappeared of the face of the earth, the situation has changed. I'll be at the Derby game, but i'll be more focused on cheering my team on than bringing bedsheets into the round or meeting at the JH statue after the game etc, cos theres no point!

Personally I think SISU have performed brilliantly in recent weeks, They kept hold of our star assets and brought in another potential star asset. The Hoff has disappeared and people have no reason to chant against SISU at the moment.

Like someone else said, WHAT ALTERNATIVE IS THERE?

But there isn't an alternative to Sisu because Sisu sabotaged the bid put forward, and will try to do the same with any other bid that doesn't give them there money back.

I would rather believe a Cov fan with the respect that Hoffman has in the business world, than Sisu.

IMO the rival bid was the real deal.

So why did they not come in with another deal? I see it as the money was not in place or the people with the money were football people that did not know the rules. What tells me this is how quiet Hoffman and his investors went after the bid was questioned. If they had nothing to hide we would have heard a fair bit more. To me the silence says everything.

He is a well respected business man who would do a lot better job at city than Sisu.

I think the reason they didn't come back in with another bid is quite clear, Sisu have messed them about so much and to the point that they just couldn't do business with them.
We have to remember that it's only Hoffman who is a Cov fan, his backers are just investors who are there for the return, and there are a lot more things out there to invest in than Coventry City football club, and without the hassle of having to deal with business men who havn't got a clue.

Whatever the Hoffs bid was it wasn't accepted. His consortium obviously had a budget to offer and stuck to it which shows good business practice. I am sure they will be back once Sisu hang themselves its just going to be a long drawn out process.

I was all for the Hoffman bid. Nothing has come from it. Nothing has been said since. Nothing against Hoffman. If the bid had been knocked back for no reason I am sure we would have heard more since. It supposedly went down as one of investors was not allowed to invest. No comments come back saying this was untrue. So where did you get the bit from saying SISU wanted too much?

If they wanted it that badly then why not just address the issue regarding the 3rd party interest or whatever the problem was regarding the investor who was not allowed to invest and try and take over again?
Sisu will not go into admin or if they do it will not be for a long time yet, hoffmans backers will have moved on by now anyway I would have thought, they are not going to wait around forever.

So would you not say they are a bit like sisu then, who want a return on there investment?
Doesn't matter if hoffs a cov fan the investers would not just keep throwing money at the club just because he's a cov fan?
So in that scenario we would be going from one sisu to another sisu but with a differant name?

Not very good at planning then is he? Or was it an overnight decision to forget about us and go onto other things? All we have heard about the investors for us that he had was the one that was not allowed to invest in us because of football rules.

My problem with Hoffman is two fold. Firstly, SISU have seen no 'proof of funds' to take him seriously and, more importantly, he was part of the boards that got us where we are. The fact he did little more than assault SISU through the media just weakens his position for me. SISU have asset stripped us to keep us alive it looks like. I still wouldn't say I trust them - they have outright lied to us, but atm we have no option.
