No, totally disagree. Not at all and I am not one of these always screaming at the ref and I never feel I always know best. And there you have it-the best referees are always in the stands and know best.
If you take a screenshot from the match and put a line across. about a 5th of his head is offside. So very very tight and you would not have seen it with a naked eye. Linesman should have given benefit to striker.
Isn't the rule, that it has to be part of the body that you can play the ball with? If that's the case then an arm can't be offside (although a shoulder could)Surely his arm would have been off rather than the top of his head?
Agree.I keep seeing people use this as the main example for 'poor refereeing'. I *think* it's onside but it's very close. As someone previously mentioned, the ball that went about a foot and a half out for a goal kick was much worse officiating.
Surely his arm would have been off rather than the top of his head?
I just meant the line, it isn't going in the right perspective.
You have just answered it there-how can he give it if he didn’t see it!No, totally disagree. Not at all and I am not one of these always screaming at the ref and I never feel I always know best.
The player clearly took the ball out of play though. No idea how the linesman didn't see it.

Exactly. In which case, why didn't he see it?
In which case, why didn't he see it?
Agree. He had a very bad game.I actually never criticise officials but the guy who ran that like was just terrible. He was forever behind play and just was totally incompetent

Yeah, noticed that. A lot of puffing and panting. They were all pretty bad, could tell in the warmup they were all pretty unfit as well.
Because they are human. In which case, why didn't he see it?
Because they are human.
Again, another blinkered view from the stands. Have you ever tried or thought about taking up the whistle? In which case they weren't doing their job properly, it's pretty simple to watch whether a ball crosses a line or not isn't it?
Maybe if the 3 of them laid off the food they would have kept up with the game a bit better.

We need a better class of human then. The lino in the wolves game yesterday clearly missed the ball going over the line despite being right next to it. The Lino in the Liverpool game didn’t flag for a goal because he didn’t think it crossed the line when it did. Both of them were fit, so sometimes it’s just human error.

To still be involved in the game we all live and breathe when your playing days come to an end. What's blinkered about it?
I can understand if it's a goal line scramble with loads of bodies in the way but not the basics.
No, why would I want to be a ref when I would just play instead?

My badNo, you are reading me wrong, I am talking about the goalkick that should have been.
Not talking about the offside.

Not just him mate-lots of “experts” who seem to know the Laws of the Games better than the officials and take as gospel what is said on the radio and pundits alike on Match of the day.I’d love to see Doyle have a go at officiating after he hangs up his playing boots! He’s spent his career reffing games from the midfield position, I’d love to see how he would actually get on as the actual man in the middle
