So we wait until the end of the transfer window in the hope of getting him or find somebody else? but to be honest what keeper would want to play behind our midfield and defence?????

It's a vital position and I think Mark Bunn would be a decent enough keeper at this level. Does anyone know whether he'd be available? And of course it's quite possible he wouldn't want to play for us given our wage structure. It's always difficult to get decent players on a free transfer in the January window, and our situation means it's doubly difficult. The main thing SP can offer is more or less guaranteed playing time.

When Burge signed his new contract wasn't there a clause they he could leave in the January window if he hadn't played a certain number of games? Knowing our luck we're going to end up without any keepers.

This deal was never going to happen, it was a non starter due to wages earlier in the season so certainly would not be happening now.

I believe Steven Bywater is available - possibly on a free, although we should of gone in for Loach before Peterborough did

What's happened to the Arsenal keeper who was at Nuneaton on loan and then we had to get him back after the Burge debacle. Did he go back to Nuneaton?

Surprise surprise... The latest headline on the offal... "Lee Burge was fantastic"... So there's the build up to saying he's been good enough to not bother bringing anyone else in. This club really do think we are thick.

He's still with us, couldn't go back to Nunny for some reason, but can't remember what that reason was.

Because he's likely to be playing they could be trying to gee up a player who made an absolute hash of his last chance, rather than trying to make people forget we've got nobody else.

Going back many years I remember a situation when we were without a goalkeeper and Alf Wood, (an all time great CCFC keeper in the late 40's 50's) was named in goal. He was the club's trainer at the time and was ancient at the time !

I know. I hate it when we try and motivate players. We should have a headline "Burge Is In On Saturday. He's Shit, But Hey We Ain't Gotta Choice".

Whenever I think about dodgy players and how we should treat them, I'm reminded of Adebola. I didn't much like Adebola, he always seemed to look like he was playing in flippers to me. in essence a big bloke, who the ball bounced off, and who never seemed to want to get stuck in. I remember he used to get a lot of stick from the crowd, but one day for some reason it just turned. I don't know why, but what sounded like ironinc cheering whenever he did something well, started to turn into proper encouragement - and you could see the bloke physically lift, he seemed to get bigger, stronger, more determined, and just a better player all around. And of course the better he did, the more he got the crowd behind him.

I'm not sure how long it lasted, but what your post reminded me of Torch is that the one thing we can do to help the team as supporters is to get right behind the players. Especially the ones having a hard time of it. Burge might not be brilliant, but if he gets the kind of reception that lifts him, rather than one that makes him nervous, he'll surely do an awful lot better for us.

These are professional footballers earning more money then 95% of this board. If they can't deal with pressure of a professional sportsman then clearly in the wrong game

Talk about missing the point.

Would you rather encourage a player and see him improve, or are you one of those sad bastards who sits there booing and whining all of the time. I'm going to guess the latter. I think some 'fans' only go to games to see the player they've got a downer on fail, presumably so they can bang on to their mates "see, told you he was shit".
