I genuinely believe this is the appointment our club needs.big names never deliver at this club..somebody young .ambitious.and who is used to winning/promotion.at 44 could be a long term appointment for us..some of our fans have to accept we could be in league for 2-3 years minimum.
Burn him at the stake! Hang, draw and quarter him! Make him listen to Kajagoogoo all day!
The swine!!!
Can't say I would be overjoyed with this one
Only 2 seasons of experience in the lowest tier of the football league is my main gripe. The Oxford fans seem very split on him also, some saying he has had a lot of money to spend and others saying he has done a good job.Because .......?

Think I would be quite optimistic if it was him.

12th an 9th place finishes, hardly inspiring stuff tbh.
Would have been sacked last season but was pally with the chairman according to a few
I think there are better options out there for sure
Yea I just think it is a similar gamble as to when you buy a conference/L2 player and hope they can make the step up to the higher level. Some can and others can notFair enough.
Must say I am encouraged by him. Current on a 47% win ratio at Oxford. We have been lucky to get anywhere near 30% with our lot of the past many season.
Let's balance it out here.
Because .......?
Yeah, cos the big name managers we have had have served us so well in the past haven't they!
Name any manager since relegation from the Prem that has done well.
Which is pretty much my point.
People are saying we need an experienced manager or one who has success or a big name, but they have all failed us in the past.
We just need someone who can bring success and I don't care if it is someone I have never heard of or not. First I heard of Chris Wilder was two days ago.
There's lots of big names being banded about but I for one am very wary of all these big names (Megson, Ince etc.)
The only name that interests me is Dennis Wise and that is simply because I think he would be an inspirational and motivational manager and we need a revolution here.
It doesn't matter how big or small they are as long as they good for us.Which is pretty much my point.

I'd much rather have Wise, Ince, Blackwell or Megson over Wilder and Tisdale. Appointing either of Wilder or Tisdale will only act as a catalyst for us to become a smaller club and rot in this division for years.
