COVENTRY City have arranged a meeting with former vice-chairman Gary Hoffman next month to discuss his offer to buy the club for £1 and pump in £30million of fresh investment.
Sky Blues chairman Ken Dulieu confirmed: “I am happy to meet with Gary and I am optimistic that this time the investors will show up and we can have a meaningful discussion.
“I can totally understand that Gary wants another go * he has been in the paper more times than any of my players over the last few months, so he's obviously keen.
“But I am talking to lots of other people who do not want to conduct their business through the media. “ Dulieu stressed that he aims to strengthen City's squad for the new sea son despite having to operate “with one hand tied behind my back“.
Manager Andy Thorn has identified two players, believed to be a striker and a midfielder to offset the loss of out-ofcontract duo Marlon King and Aron Gunnarsson.
And, having secured fresh funds from owners Sisu Dulieu says that he will be trying to get those targets on board while holding on to the Sky Blues' current assets. The likes of Sammy Clingan, he insisted, will be going nowhere unless somebody comes in with an “absolutely ridiculous“ offer.
