Comparison of drop in spectators from relegation to league 2 (1 Viewer)

Some interesting rolling figures that CCFC have naturally seen the biggest slump in spectators in comparison to the 3 other sides who were relegated last season.

Obviously there are variables to be considered and tomorrow's ticket offer will alter the figure hugely also.

CCFC had a average attendance of 9,119 in L1 and currently averaging 7,543 in L2 with a difference of -1,576 spectators currently from 15 games

Chesterfield had a average attendance of 5,929 in L1 and currently averaging 5,222 in L2 with a difference of -707 spectators currently from 16 games

Swindon had a average attendance of 7,026 in L1 and currently averaging 6,592 in L2 with a difference of -434 spectators currently from 13 games

Port Vale had a average attendance of 4,813 in L1 and currently averaging 4,645 in L2 with a difference of -168 spectators currently from 16 games

Lincoln have seen a huge rise in spectators from there promotion to L2 and sit top of the attendance table in league two.

Lincoln had a average of 5,162 in the national league and currently averaging 8,631 in L2 with a difference of + 3,469 spectators currently.
118,717 spectators overall last year, with 138,096 spectators seen already in L2 in 16 games

Forest Green had a average of 1,753 in the national league and currently averaging 2,736 in L2 with a difference of + 983 spectators currently.
40,325 spectators overall last year, with 43,772 spectators seen already in L2 in 16 games

As mentioned in another thread we may end up averaging more than last season if we stay in and around play off places.

Our next two games will be 5 figures plus also.

Stevo I assume all teams that get promoted get quite a hefty spike up.

I’m Sure the teams that got promoted from League one last year are getting huge spikes up also. Notablely Millwall and Sheffield United. Maybe not in Percentage terms but defintaely in X 000s

Yes naturally L1 sides promoted up to the championship will see the rise in numbers given the size of the clubs they play against and followings they can take.

After looking at the decrease in numbers from L1 to L2 I thought I'd check out the jump from the national league to L2 and was quite surprised by the jump even Forest Green have seen but a huge rise Lincoln have seen with just short of 3,500 given how well they played last season and cup run they enjoyed.

Just goes to show dropping out the league is unthinkable for many clubs.

Accrington’s premier league neighbours and former premier league champion neighbours would only dream of a 30k attendance vs Accrington Stanley, even if their stadiums were big enough they wouldn’t.

Yes but we had to give away 3/4 of the tickets for tomorrow.
How many will be used that will be the intresting thing to see.
Where will they all be at the next home game .
Unfortunatey I see another Gillingham here and we will all end up heart broken again.

True, but it they did a £5 offer and gifted tickets to kids I'm sure it be close.

I see Accrington handed out shirts to the local school kids this week, hope it works for them in the long run.

I was reading an article about Accrington Stanley in this months When Saturday Comes (a good football magazine that is worth a read if you haven’t tried it. As likely to have something about Macclesfield as Man Utd, not all PL froth). Their owner seems a really good bloke. The shirt offer is for every child in the town over the next few years. As soon as they turn 8 they are given a Stanley shirt. After every home game the players join the fans in Stanley’s Victory Bar for a drink and a chat about the game. Beer is £1 a pint for these occasions. His plan is to leave the club in a far better position (financially sustainable) than he found it.
