Oh my gawd, him and JCH could go in for syncopated divingThe noises from this end is that Chaplin will be gone from Pompey this week. Some supporters seem to be upset that he 'refused' to be in the squad because he didn't 'feel he was in the right place in his head'. Personally I think that most Pompey supporters sympathise with him but still don't want him to leave, this is the group I belong to. Fanatical supporters of any club seem to think that players playing for their club should be just as fanatical as they are. Conor Chaplin is both a Pompey fan and professional footballer and the professional footballer in him is driving this move because if he can't ply his trade for his favoured club he must move on to somewhere he can show his talent. Most reasonably minded people can see that is the right thing for him to do because at 21 he could become a wasted talent which would be such a shame. When he packs up profesional football he can come and watch his favourite team from the terraces like he did before. Your manager has chased Chaplin for some time which will make your club favourites to sign him as the player knows he is really wanted at your club. Mr Robbins is no idiot and he will, no doubt, know that Chaplin is no lone striker and will need to be in a striking partnership to bring out the best in him. He is not unlike McNulty but not identical. I think Chaplin has far more pace and can score from all different angles but I think McNulty has a better footballing brain and will see passes better by bringing in other forward players than Chaplin. I think Chaplin will develop into a Tony Cotee (for those old enough to remember him) sort of player but he needs to stamp out his ridicules diving.
Not before page 100, I insist! This is so exciting. It's going to happen.
Is that one of those ponzi schemes? I think SISU might have something to say about that!Hopefully McNulty does us a favour and sells the club to him.
Doubt he up for the rough stuff? Doesn't look the type.We should just sign Tom Daley and be done with it.
What is it with you and punctuation? That's the longest sentence I've ever read on SBT, and not a comma to be seen. No mean feat to read that out aloud in one breath.

Yes - if not for the fact the telegraph are reporting it

No surprise there, Nick. He's still a Pompey player (if only in theory). He was at their open training session meeting fans today....
Knowing us it will be the very last minute of deadline dayTime is running short - clearly no sign of him coming up today if he’s training with them.
We may have to wait until January
we sign him ! Get him upto speed and in the team ready for Portsmouth at home !!

Do you have anything constructive at all to add to this forum?

With Doyler in attendance to see that there's a fair outcome?Syncopated?
Is that a mix of Sycophantic and Synchronised? They both fall over together and suck up to the ref afterwards?
I’m up for a pollHow about a poll Nick? As now it's getting close to crunch time.
Will Chaplin sign this window? Yes or No.
The members you talk of make valued contributions (well sometimes) to the subjects being discussed.1. Punctuation and spelling are essential to make sense of the written word. I grew up taking an interest in these things.
2. Apart from some grammatical input? I do, from time to time, give my opinion on football matters. Often as not though, someone beats me to it and I don't really see the point of repeating what's already been said. I do enjoy a bit of repartee, in the expectation that people will treat it as a bit of light-hearted fun. This forum would be a dark place without the likes of Otis, Hill83, Usskyblue, etc and if it was populated entirely by the likes of your good self, I'd be over the hills and far away.

You, however appear intent on taking a “high and mighty” approach, which comes across as both condescending and belittling.
This is a City fans forum. The grammatical standards in no way detract from the validity of the points being raised. Why not add something constructive to the debates (where appropriate). That would make a pleasant change.
Thanks for that LG
