Since he's a yes man brought in from nowhere to do whatever No 10 wants that's not a surprise
We borrow it at the current low rates we can get. The multipliers would mean we recoup more anyway.I know nobody will want to hear this but... how on earth are we going to pay for all this?
Same suspects moaning even when Boris tries to do things to help in this crisis

This is true. He was Parks and Green Spaces Minister a year ago, now he's in charge of national spending. Pretty scary when put like that.
But yeah he speaks well, and exudes some much needed calmness and assurance.
Don'#t be a total c**t now.Same suspects moaning even when Boris tries to do things to help in this crisis
Pre-prepared statement and using a lot of words to not say very much in response to questions. But the bar is very low with the current crop of politicians on both sides.
If we're doing the wartime analogies, then the cost of WW2 bankrupted the country. It concerns me that we may have ramifications later on.We borrow it at the current low rates we can get. The multipliers would mean we recoup more anyway.
As I said there is nothing to help demand.

In fact, there are many(!) things that concern me. In the last, what, 15 years we've had SARS, Swine Flu, this. This is the biggie, but it suggests it won't be the only one in the medium term. What happens next time? Same again? or just let it ride... especially if we've entered some dark place where we can't pay for things anymore.
If we're all sat inside, does our immunity to other diseases suffer? Part of the way we exist is passing on and building up to0lerance. if we lose that...
I don't know. Again, ultimately, have to trust those in charge as there's no real choice. But the massive shift and global carnage is concerning for what comes next.
Best not think about that too much, though, or I'll go mad!
I was reading some ‘round table’ talk with a WHO guy and a guy from the CDC in USA & they were saying that at any given time there are viruses being worked on & combatted in various labs that would make this seem like nothing more than a runny nose, this was before all this coronavirus stuff started, it was a bit unnerving.
Ebola would have done something similar if it had escaped. Only as strong as your weakest link

Cineworld is shut
yeah that was mentioned, had Ebola travelled to densely populated Europe they couldn’t even begin to estimate the carnage it would have caused.
Demand for what though in the coming weeks ?! I might be wrong but I got the impression that these measures were as much to try to help businesses and people to just get through the coming weeks (2-3 months). More measures to follow from what Sunak said, following meetings with unions, business leaders etc[/QUOTE
Please once over there will still be a lack of demand and you need to keep demand in the economy. You want people to keep spending money and when people gave less money they tend to save which in turn reduces demand again meaning companies tighten their belts which usually means reducing g staff levels which in turn reduces demand again and so on and so on.Demand for what though in the coming weeks ?! Others countries seem to be including demand hoostrs I their economy interventions.
His was appalling, as expected. Just lots of rambling without making any points or revealing any detail, just standard Johnson blustering.
Sunak however was very impressive. It's amazing how much difference it makes when someone speaks confidently and concisely, much more calming and reassuring to listen to him. He made Johnson look like a toddler.
He'll be PM one day I'm sure, or Tory leader at least.
Cool story CraigGood grief, my wife has just had a text message off of one of her full time 'disabled' brothers saying where's the help in this bail out for him and his equally 'disabled' twin. They both get more than enough to comfortably live off whilst having plenty left for cars, fags, enough booze to be drunk all the time, have the latest phones and tech, to think nothing of having takeaways most evenings. They live better than most of us and he's cheesed off because he's not yet found an angle in all this so he can scrouge a bit more. No thought whatsoever for those who are and will be ill / dead. Fair play to the wife for texting back something similar to what i've just said. She's heard nothing back. I don't think he's going to be taking her shopping tomorrow now...

There was a version in German. Was discovered near Marburg and I think that's what they called it. Think there were only a handful of cases.
There was another version as well but not sure where that was

Just been told our lock in is being extended to just after Easter, so 4 weeks now.
People already arranging secret parties to get around the boredom, just been invited to two, one tonight and one tomorrow afternoon.
Don't really think this attitude is going to speed up getting the all clear.
